Welcome Rob, what sort of books do you like the recommendations will soon come pouring in.

Realistic thrillers. For example, The Boys from Brazil by Ira Levin (Rosemary's Baby). Science fiction with an emphasis on the science. Too much 'science' fiction is really just fantasy.

Maybe you would like Robert Harris - Fatherland, Enigma and Archangel are all excellent.
