Fall Challenge 2013: Questions/Problems in Completed Tasks

Task 10.8 - The reviews of A Death in Summer say the book is set in the 1950s rather than in WWII. Is this still before you were born?"
I felt the book was set more immediately post WWII and ended in in the early 50s. I was born in the 50's as well so it was close. No worries I'll read something else for this task.

Task 25.8 requires that each book be at least 300 pages. The books you've linked to are both under 300 pages. If you read a different edition, please repost this task linking to the edition you read.

Task 30.1, option 4 - Only 11 people have shelved Beautiful Bastard as humor. The genre does not appear on the book's main page.

Taskk 25.8, option 1 requires a book with a cover that is at least 50% yellow.

The cover looked predominantly yellow to me, so I didn't double check in the help thread. I'll just fit it in another task.

I swear humor was on the main page when I picked the book or I would have used it for a different task. The book was pretty funny though. I will figure something else out.
thanks

Task 20.7, option B requires you to include a link to your completed task post showing which option you claimed points in the previous challenge. Please repost this task with the required information.
No need to repost the other tasks in this post. They have been recorded.

Task 30.7 requires you to indicate in your post which author(s) are new to you.
Please repost this task with the required information.

We have multiple Suzannes competing in the challenge. Please repost the tasks in this post with your Readerboard name at the top of your completed task post.

I didn't claim any points in Spring 2013
Reminder
If you are claiming Big Book tickets, please use the words "Big Book" or "ticket" somewhere in the body of your post. Just listing the page numbers in a post isn't clear enough since some tasks require specific page numbers. Updating a tally may seem clear in your initial posts but as the season progresses we cannot tell what books are new claims.

Sorry about that, Beth. Since you didn't indicate option A, I assumed you were doing B. I've gone back to look at the book you've claimed and recorded it. Your points should show up in the next update.

Yes, it was 25.2 Sorry about that!

My fault for not putting the optiom Sorry

Task 15.3 requires that the authors first name be part of the first half (A-M) of the alphabet and their last name be part of the last half (N-Z) of the alphabet. Sarah Morgan won't work for this task.

Task 20.7 - You didn't tell me which option you were using for Task 20.1 from the Summer 2013 Challenge but from the information you supplied, I'm assuming you did option 2. If this assumption is not correct, please repost this task with the correct task number. Otherwise, no need to repost.
HI, Kristi, i think you missed my post when you were updating the totals Post 456 it should be 145 not 60, Thanks! :)

If you look at the top of the readerboard, it tells you through what post Kristi has updated. Right now it's only updated through post 450. Updates are usually done in 50 post increments so the next one should be at 500. That's when you will see your updated total.
Thanks! I totally missed that!! :) ignore my post above.

Sure, just point out that you are reposting for a Big Book ticket and include all info including your original post number

You've already claimed task 5.6 in post 224, making your total 35 rather than 40.

You have not included a Readerboard name in this post, but I believe you are HANA C. If not, please let me know as HANA C currently has your points!

Task 10.8 requires that either the genre historical fiction or the genre history appear on the book's main page. Eclipse has neither of these genres.
Task 20.6 requires that you state in your post that the author is new to you.
Task 20.7, option B requires that you include a link to your post in the Summer 2013 completed task thread showing that you completed task 20.9, option 2 during that challenge.
Please repost these tasks with the required information. No need to repost the other tasks in this post. They have been recorded.

Task 25.6 does not allow any book with the genre "childrens" on its main page, regardless of length. Therefore, It Takes a Village cannot be used for this task.

Task 10.8 requires that either the genre historical fiction or the genre history appear on the book's main page. Devotion: A novel based on the life of Winnie Davis, Daughter of the Confederacy has neither of these genres on its main page.

Weird, I could've sworn Eclipse had the historical fiction genre when I chose it...oh, well! I'll pick something new for that and fix the other mistakes. I'm sorry!

edit - ah, I see the director's comment: "Removing the shelves box was a design decision because it was seen to be duplicative. On books with few reviews, the shelving activity is already pretty visible in the Community Reviews section."

It's okay. It's my own fault for not keeping better track. And anyway, I had an orphaned book I was hoping to find a spot for, so I'm using it instead :D
As for the other mistakes...well, I should know better than to post after taking my super-strong bronchitis-fighting cough syrup for the night ^_^;

Oh, ick, bronchitis. Hope you feel better soon!

Sorry. This is definitely not a children's book, so I missed noticing a couple of people had shelved it that way. Rules are rules...

Task 5.6 - I'm not sure which book you're trying to claim. Please repost this task with a book and author listed.
No need to repost the other tasks in this post. They have been recorded.

Task 15.1 is a two book task. Please repost this task providing information about both books.

Task 10.10 - Sorry, but Dewey: The Small-Town Library Cat Who Touched the World will not work for this task. Vicki Myron may be 66 years old this year, but she was not a senior citizen when the events in the book take place. Dewey lived to be 19 years old, making Myron (at oldest) 47 years old when she found him.

Yes- that's me (Hana C.)- I managed to forget my initial!

Task 5.6 requires a book that is set primarily in the United Kingdom: England, Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland. I don't see any evidence that The Tao of Martha: My Year of LIVING; Or, Why I'm Never Getting All That Glitter Off of the Dog is set in the UK.
Also, your total is off by another 15 points re post 66 in this thread, giving you a total of 100 instead of 120.

You can just wait to repost when you get the second book read for 15.1. I have your total at 150 for now.
