ABANDONED. Book series where the first book is about the mom and the second book is about the daughter

I read a summary of a book but I can't find it on my to read list. The first book is about a woman who's husband left her for his secretary (I think). The summary also says she has a daughter in college. Her husband was also in trouble with the law and left the country with his mistress. She falls in love with the FBI agent (or something along those lines). The second book is about the daughter who falls in love with her mother's boyfriend's best friend. The best friend is also a FBI agent or something like that. He is also 10 years older than her. Any suggestions would greatly be appreciated! Thank you!
