Evelyn, Just love the Murdoch series on Ovation. I've watch about 15 of them and can honestly say they hold interest and each one is excellent. Did not know thatit was based on books written by Maureen Jennings, an
author I know nothing about, but will look up the link provided by you and first mentioned by JOHN.

Yes i knew she had written the series but found out after the fact. I read the books and they are a bit different than the TV series.
Thought you folks would enjoy a look at Lawrence Block's pulp covers. There are some great ones, two of which I'm fortunate to have.LB's Cover Gallery
Sue Grafton's Kinsey Millhone series and Michael Connelly's Harry Bosch series are my favorites because they are the most realistic and credible (although they do stretch reality as necessary to make a good story). Almost everything else in the genre is so ridiculous it's hard to get into the story. Most are little more than comic books without the pictures.

Some are more believable them others. I couldn't get into Iris Johnassen for the reason that her main characters were too "perfect"

Russell, I love the Sue Grafton series, also. I like going back to the 1980s with Kinsey because it seems like she has to work so much harder for clues without the use of cell phones and computers. I just wish that I aged as slowly and Kinsey!

In moments of peril I've often thought if only she had a cell phone! But at the same time I've learned a thing or two about criss-cross directories. She could have REALLY used the Freedom of Information Act too.
I love that Grafton wrote the whole series keeping Kinsey within just a few years. I just finished the last one and was thinking that when I started reading the series I was a couple years younger than Kinsey and now I'm a couple years older. Sigh, reality.
I love to follow a series through technological changes, through the 90's and into the present. Really cool to keep remembering what they had to work with.
I've greatly enjoyed reading the John Wells series by author Alex Berenson. I'm presently four books deep & looking forward to more.
