I know! I'm the same way! My bookshelf is overflowing and so is my closet with about eight stacks of books two and a half feet high (each stack)!
I almost have all the RDI books that I haven't read yet except the elusive Diary of a Blues Goddess. I've tried twice now to get that from BM and PBS and either the person never responds (BM), or it gets lost in the mail (PBS)!

message 52: by Kourtney (new)

Kourtney (readthateventually) | 1215 comments Oh I just got that in the mail yesterday from BM! I also got The Anglophile and Mafia Chic. I'm waiting for Miss Bubbles Steals the Show and Tart. I am expecting one more PBS point in which I'll be ordering Swapping Feathers - this is why I am still overflowing with books!!!

Stacy (stacymarie913) | 5567 comments Mod
I've got in on order again through PBS. It's been "accepted." We'll see. I'm not holding my breath. LOL!
Mafia Chic was a really cute story and I LOVED Miss Bubbles! But then again, I'm more of a cat person than a dog person.
I have the other three but haven't read them yet.

Kourtney (readthateventually) | 1215 comments I have a spreadsheet that shows what books I am still looking for...to complete my RDI series I need (thank you Stacy for the RDI complete list!):

Dating Can Be Deadly
Rescuing Rose
Technical Hitch
Mean Season
Let's Meet on Platform 8 (ok I'll give it a chance)
Welcome to the Real World (this one too)
With or Without You (yeah yeah this too)
The Sex Was Great But...
Summer in the Land Of Skin
Lucky Girl

10 more books and my RDI book collection will be complete!!! Now reading them all is a separate issue.

AND IF ANYONE WANTS A COPY OF FASHIONISTAS YOU CAN MOOCH MINE!!!

Kourtney, I have "Let's Meet on Platform 8." A friend of mine gave it to me and I haven't read it, and I'm truthfully not sure that I will. If you want it, I'm happy to give it a good home!

Also, I really enjoyed "Welcome to the Real World." I don't have that one anymore, but I definitely think you should give it a chance (even my mom liked it, and we never like the same books).

message 57: by Kourtney (new)

Kourtney (readthateventually) | 1215 comments Ohhh Jen can you put it up on BM and I'll pull it off of your list (or if you can reserve it for me - I don't know how to do that)? Thanks for that!

I was going to get Welcome to the Real World on my Kindle until I realized I may not want to keep it so I'm going to find it on one of these trading sites :)

Tara - Have you read the Mim Warner book yet? To be honest I am not a fan of Lynn Messina's. I have her other book "Tallulahland" and that is my last Lynn Messina try. Give it a try though you may like it! Lindsay Lohan loved it and wanted to be in the movie (doesn't say much but there you go!)

I'll be picking that up tonight and attempting to speed read it before Hope in a Jar comes in.

Kourtney, I closed my Bookmooch account, so I'm only on PBS now. I don't need a credit for it...just PM me your address and I'll send it to you. Whenevever you make it around to "Out of the Blue" by Isabel Wolff or "The Pact" by Jennifer Sturman, you can return the favor if you'd like since I'm looking for those two. :)

Erotica is my genre...although I have written a ccuple essays for contests during college and won bits of cash here and there. I think one of them may actually be published somewhere.

I've been writing/telling stories since I was literally 4 and actually writing them since I was 14. I'm currently attempting to write a supernatural thriller; I spent about 2 months on the characters and they are all nice and hot and fleshy :P Like you definitely wouldn't mind one of them showing up in your bedroom :S

I'm actually a paralegal student and write part-time.

That's really cool that you've won $$ and been published. Good luck with that!!
A supernatural thriller sounds great. Even though I am a huge fan of chick lit, Dean Koontz is my absolute favorite writer. I've been reading him since I was 12, so I guess that makes 18 years. (Oh god, I feel so old now!!!) I'd be very interested in reading your book when you're finished!

So I just got Love Letters of Great Men from the library. Anyone that has watched the first Sex in the City movie may recognize the title because that's how I discovered it.
I just watched it again (for the millionth time) about a month ago and decided I wanted to read that book. So I jumped on my library's website only to find they didn't have it! But, I was able to request that they order it and, lo and behold, I had an email this morning saying it was waiting for me to pick it up. So I rushed over on my lunch and grabbed it! A co-worker thumbed through it and read a letter by Keats that made us both go, "Awwwww!!!"
Cannot wait to read more! I think I'm going to have to buy it!

I finished this book last night - it's super short and I loved it!! I am going to have to buy it. And there's a Volume 2 that I need to read as well!
My absolute favorite was the one I mentioned before that was written by Keats. Victor Hugo had some really great ones too!

I was gonna try to read those but I have waaaay too many other books to get through. If you need anymore of them Kourtney, I've got the rest of what I have posted on PBS and BM.

message 85: by Jencey/ (new)

Jencey/ (jencey) | 754 comments Stacy I am about 160 pages in. It is an easy read. One thing I was reminded of in these comments is sometimes the first book sort of sets the scene. Then the comment that Alicia says makes sense or I am at least willing to try Knit Two or Knit For The Season.

I loved the first book - it seems daunting because it's so thick, but it's really a quick read. I'm finding the same thing with the sequel (which I am loving as much as the first one). I just started it the day before yesterday and I'm already 250 pages in.

message 95: by Kourtney (new)

Kourtney (readthateventually) | 1215 comments Here is a random recommendation:

Monkey Love by Brenda Scott Royce

I found it on sale at Barnes and Noble and picked it up for something different. I just finished it and I have to say, it is was a good "fluffy" read. The cover has Janet Evanovich and some writer from Fraser extolling how funny the book was. I didn't find myself laughing out loud, but I did enjoy the book enough to want to read the sequel. Give it a try if you're in the mood for a beach read.
