Over the course of seven seasons of Gilmore Girls, Rory Gilmore was seen reading 339 books on screen. How many have you read?

The character Rory was a big bookworm and had carried a book in every episode.

Abi (abi_b) Really interesting list. I've read 24, and have quite a few of these on my Kindle/tbr pile.

Also, can I just say that I love the look of the website this list is on - I feel that I could well lose a good couple of hours going through its pages!

I know what you mean, a friend of mine showed me the site a couple of months ago and I have hooked on it ever since.

What a clever reading list idea Alannah!

I've read 98 of them. Some strange books on this list that I read years ago out of personal interest and have never heard referred to in any context since by anyone. Gender Trouble by Judith Butler, for instance. An intriguing book but with lots of weird ideas in it, one that I never expected to encounter again. I wonder who picked the books to appear on the show? Must have been an avid reader because there's some pleasing eccentricity in a few of the picks. Clearly didn't just come from a typical best-of list.

Evelyn | 1410 comments 74, and I have three more from this list on my bookshelf. This is a very eclectic list, I like it.

Shirley | 4177 comments I'm on 45 now.

message 18: by Robin P (new)

Robin P I've read 146! Some famous ones but some unusual ones. Some are pretty adult (Lady Chatterly's Lover) and some are children's books.

message 19: by Noel (new)

Noel Brady (noel-brady) 40.5 for me - I read half of one of them ;) Rory had great taste. (Love this show btw!)
