Can't upload an excerpt

Hi - I followed guidelines to upload ebook but the option doesn't exist when I go to edit my book details. Suggestions?

Only authors of the book can upload excerpts and since you have not claimed the author profile you will not be able to do so.

You need to claim the profile, by going to the author page and using the link at the bottom of the page

Were you intending to upload the entire book or an excerpt? I count 410 pages.

That was my next question! I put in for it to load 5% (and when I previewed it, it said "end of excerpt", but then the whole thing loaded. What did I do wrong?

The important bits are probably "Members can only read this ebook in their browser for free" which will prevent the download option from appearing in the first place. And, "I am uploading the whole ebook. Cut off at ___ %" which tells the system that the file contains the entire book but you only want xx% to be read.

Plan B would be to upload a file that ONLY contains the part of the book that you want to make available for free. This is probably the best option.
