Damien Owens (damienowens) | 4 comments Hi Everyone,

I've just noticed that one of the reviews of my book Dead Cat Bounce (reviewer: Jeannen) was actually intended for another novel of almost the same name: The Dead Cat Bounce by Sarah Graves.

Any idea how I go about rectifying this? Sorry if it's obvious - I'm new!

Damien

My book:
Dead Cat Bounce

Sarah Graves's book:
The Dead Cat Bounce

Lisa Vegan (lisavegan) | 2400 comments Damien, I'd suggest you copy the review and paste it into the book/book edition that you read. Then, if you didn't read the book to which you originally posted the review and want it off your shelves, go to that book, click edit, scroll down, and click on the remove from my books link.

Damien Owens (damienowens) | 4 comments Thanks for the reply, Lisa - but I didn't write the review; I wrote the book!

Cait (tigercait) | 4988 comments Damien, there isn't a way for librarians to move a single person's review; we can merge books and bring the reviews along if there's an inaccurate book entered into the system, but your book Dead Cat Bounce is a correct record, just with the wrong review.

What I would suggest is leaving a comment on the review itself pointing out the mistaken identity. (You would also have the option of sending a message directly to the reviewer, but this reviewer's profile is private so that isn't available.) That way, the reviewer will be able to delete this and re-review the correct book.

Additionally, you might want to go into the book record for your book via the "edit" link (available in the upper right-hand corner of the book's data) and fill in the description field. Usually this contains the sort of blurb that would go on the back of a paperback or the inside flap of a hardcover book. This will help future reviewers be sure that they have the right book!

Damien Owens (damienowens) | 4 comments Thanks Cait! I'll leave a comment and hope the reviewer happens upon it.

Cait (tigercait) | 4988 comments Many people opt to receive email when they get a review comment, but of course not everyone does and there's no way to tell. Here's hoping! :)

Lisa Vegan (lisavegan) | 2400 comments Damien, Oh, I see. I did misunderstand. Yes, Cait's advice is the best I can think of and I hope that it works.
