Introductions!

Hi everyone, my name is Tash and I am finishing up my first SF/dystopian novel. Just looking to learn more about the entire process
Hi everyone! Found out about this little group through a friend. My name is Shannon and I write fantasy, science fiction, and romance. My current and first published work is the Experimental Heart trilogy with book one out now, book two in the multiple drafting phase and book three nearly done with the first draft.
Hi, I'm E.L. (El, if you may). I'm a writer of fantasy and fiction. I love books of all kinds and I'm freakishly new to Goodreads. I hope to get more accustomed to it as time goes on. I liked the looks of this group so I joined it quickly. :3 Hi Everyone!
Oh, also, I have problems writing just one stand alone story. Every time I write a new book I find ways to turn it into a series, but never a trilogy. If anyone has suggestions on how to get over this bewildering issue I'd love to hear! :) That's just more random information about me though, completely random. lol
Hello E.L. And welcome aboard. Be careful; Goodreads is addictive!
As for sequels, there's no solution because it's not an issue. :)

Welcome El :)I have the same "problem". And that's in quotes because I used to think it was a problem and realized it wasn't.
Hi El,Yeah I don't think it's a problem either. Not unless you're hiding series manuscripts in your loo cistern, sock drawer and other hidey holes, lol.
Welcome aboard, El! I too have this issue. Sometimes the characters won't be quiet when I want them to >_>
Hi, my name is Shannon. I write mysteries, thrillers and horror and enjoy reading the same. I'd like to 'friend' up with people with like interests. Always looking for some good book recommendations, open to writers who want to talk shop as well :)
Hello all! My name is Ellie A. Gray, and I have published one book, Fusion Night, which is the first in a trilogy. I am postponing the next two books, however, because when I initially published Fusion Night I was only fifteen. Obviously, my writing has improved since then, so I plan on re-writing and re-publishing Fusion Night before I get around to the next two books. In addition, I am also working on a saga that consists of four books. My books can be categorized as YA Fantasy.Anyways, I'm very happy to be here! I hope to learn a lot more about writing in this group, and possibly in turn be able to help others!
Hi Ellie, how exciting :D! Best of luck with the rewrite :] It's awesome that you wrote it so young :D
Hello Ellie, welcome aboard and wow you were so young. Not an easy task, especially for such a young writer so congrats and good luck with the re-write.
Hello and welcome aboard Phoenix. :)
There's nothing to be worried about. We don't bite...much. :>
I love the fantasy genre: Pure fantasy, urban fantasy, contemporary fantasy. Anything fantasy! :)

Hello. Thank you for the invite.I'm currently working on a dark urban fantasy set in late nineteenth century Dublin. I'm tearing the first draft apart at this very moment(almost)...
I'm also working on a collection of poetry and numerous short pieces, half of which will probably end as long pieces.
I mainly use Scrivener for writing, but use a personal Kanban system for planning and organising writing projects.

Goodreads looks addicting, and I hope I get used to it enough so that it can be an addiction with awesome writing friends. :) And it isn't an issue? Hmm...
Shannon wrote: "Welcome El :)I have the same "problem". And that's in quotes because I used to think it was a problem and realized it wasn't."It seems like it should be a problem. :/ As a writer we should be able to write all types of stores, including stand-alone novels... right?
Bisky wrote: "Welcome aboard, El! I too have this issue. Sometimes the characters won't be quiet when I want them to >_>"Yeah, Like they just keep telling their story and you're trying to wrap it up!
Characters, "We've got so much more we can do! Start another story! You know you want to!~<3"
Storybook characters can be evil...

Goodreads addictive? Oh gosh, that's not the tip of the iceberg. Once or twice since I joined, they had problems with their email notice. No emails were sent to warn that new posts had been made. I think I got crazy during those few days. So yes, GR IS addictive. :)
Sequels are not an issue. Most people love sequels. :)
And to answer the post you made to Shannon, yes, authors should be able to write stand-alone, but we are all at the mercy of our MCs and if they're not done telling their stories, what can an author do but to listen to them? If we don't they won't let us sleep!

Hello! I'm Summer. I write in a variety of genres and for a variety of age groups, though YA SF/F w a touch of romance tends to be my favorite. My debut YA sci-fi LINK will be out Fall 2015. I pitch it as A Wrinkle in Time with a Stargate twist. I look forward to meeting and chatting with everyone!
Hi everyone, I'm fantasticbookblog (AKA Daniel) and I'm trying to get back into my writing. I have a great idea for a children's adventure series and really want to get this going. Hoping that being on here may help!
Hello Daniel, and welcome aboard!
Help? Maybe, hopefully. Distract? Most certainly. Beware, Goodreads is addictive!

Hey people! Been dreaming of being a writer for just about my entire life. It was never because I wanted to make money, but because I wanted to share my writing with people. I enjoy seeing people's reactions and emotions when they read my work.
Now, thanks to Amazon Kindle, I have published three books, with the fourth coming out in September. It's the sequel to my first published novel, "Spettra".
I thought joining the group may help me to spread my writing so more people can read and enjoy my books.
I look forward to the conversations with all of you!
Hello and welcome aboard Adam. Congrats on your pubs. I have to agree with you. The best reward an author can receive has to be seeing people's reaction to their work.

The things that are, usually aren't usually appropriate to talk about on group discussions Haha.
