Hi Everyone,My name is Jenny and I'm two months away from publishing Who I Am: American Scar Stories. Portraits and revealing stories sharing the struggles and triumphs of people with noticeable physical scars. I am so glad to join this group and hear what other writers soon to be published/already published have to say! There is so much to learn and who better to teach than those with real world experience.
Hmm, why wasn't I notified about Maya's introduction. Stupid goodreads! Anyway, a belated welcome :D
Hi Jenny, welcome aboard hope you enjoy the threads! Good luck with publishing :D

Hi all! My name is K.C. Rivers. I'm an author, video game/manga geek and general fantasy enthusiast. I published my first book at the beginning of last year. (Prince of Light, young adult medieval fantasy.) Currently working away on book two of the series and trying to make more connections with other writers. I'm going to slowly make my way through the forums here. (Though it'll take me a while to get caught up.)
Look forward to meeting everyone!
I’ve been bumpin about in the Bisky threads for a week, but didn’t get around to introducing myself. So here goes.
I’m looking forward to taking part in this group and meeting people with similar interests. I’m mostly joining groups within my areas of interest that have fewer than 200 members, since at this size there are probably fewer than 100 active threaders. A community of 100 threaders is likely small enough to get to “know” everyone. Which I hope to.
I have decades of writing experience in (mostly) the software field—mostly as a prolific writer but also as a pathetic editor, and I’ve run a shop of 100 writers/illustrators. I’m now retired and 62, so I have time to write a billion best sellers. (No exaggeration.)
I’ll toss a book blurb into the book folder eventually.

Hello Tony, welcome aboard. I know what you mean about active threaders. I know most everyone from Twitter and recognise them if they have the same icon (I actually have very good memory, the bourbon hasn't killed it off... just yet) And some other people are from goodreads that I added or added me. People come and go, depends on what they are doing. But I think you'll get to know some people here for sure :]
Hi and thanks for the invite. I write nonfiction, historical articles and memoir. I also am struggling to master the art of the novel. I have completed two contemporary romances, and am now in the arduous process of pitching them. May just check out Createspace. Would love to hear about other folks's experience with self-pubbing.Frances Brown also writing as Claire Gem
Hi Frances! Welcome aboard. There are some other self pubbers here who have used createspace and there are acouple of threads about it. Good luck in your pitching process :D!
Hello Everyone I am Angela. I have a novel in the query trenches and I am waiting to hear back on 2 full requests! I am currently attempting a NA magical realism which is a challenge. My biggest writing challenge is also my biggest asset, dyslexia. My dyslexia causes my mind to work extremely fast and I can connect work a plot with many branches of detail weaving it through the story. My dyslexia isn't just switching letters, sometimes I leave out phrases, and spelling can also be tricky because of the auditory dyslexia(thank goodness for spell check). I constantly study grammar, use 1checker, and do brain exercises that have helped me improve my weakness. If spot mistakes, just grant me some grace. I always appreciate caring criticism.
Hey Angela, welcome aboard. I'm dyslexic too so don't worry about it on the forum :p My dyscalculia is far worse in it's severity though, so kinda glad about that, lol. Have to use my hand to count to five and everything! Hah.
Write now, edit later! :D

Hi everyone! Thanks for the invite Bisky!I write fantasy, futuristic, and paranormal romances, usually with a humorous twist. I released my debut novel, ASSASSIN'S HEART, a fantasy romance in November.
I'm currently waiting (and waiting and waiting) to get my nerdy short story back from my editor. It's about a couple that is confronted by the characters that the heroine has romanced in video games - I'm still trying to figure out what genre it is, LOL!
I'm glad to be here and am looking forward to getting to know everyone. Oh - and please, call me Izzy!
Welcome Izzy! Humorous twists are awesome ^^ I probably appreciate them so much because they're so difficult to pull off and I just can't do it haha Congrats on your release!

Welcome to the group!
Hey everyone. I write urban fantasy and my first book was published November 2013. I am currently close to completing the second book in the series.
Hey Rose! Weclome aboard. Good luck with the second novel, there are a couple of us here in the middle of writing/rewriting second books so you'll fit right in :3
Hi, Thanks for the invite! Lovely to be part of this group.I am writing a YA fantasy set in Cambridge. The main protagonist is a teenage girl called Amelina Scott. She has magical powers and meets a young man who is not quite what he seems. The book has several themes but fundamentally it is about a teenager discovering these powers as well as coping with the difficulties of living in a very strange household where she doesn't feel that she belongs. She discovers that first love or attraction can be blinding. I hope to get this debut novel edited by the end of the summer and hopefully find a publisher/agent who may be interested. This is my first book.
I am also working on several other shorter children's books for youngsters and a travelogue too. So pretty busy! Loving it!
Thank you for the invite! I have written 3 manuscripts that are worth mentioning (1 that just should never see the light of day *shudder*), all parts of a series of Historical/Romance/Inspirational/Young Adult fiction about siblings in a family that came to America on the Mayflower. It's not as stuffy as it sounds! I promise!I take my writing very seriously but I feel (perhaps unnecessarily?) the compulsion to call it my hobby since I've yet to get paid for anything I've written. I love that there is a community of writers here on goodreads and I look forward to talking about my writing outside of my immediate social circle, which lacks imagination and probably thinks I'm a little nuts.
Hi M, welcome aboard! I like your protagonists name :3 Good luck with your writing!
Hello, Robin, welcome to the group :3 It’s never a hobby, it’s a lifestyle. Like being a vegetarian. With words.
Yes. And Yes. We are all nuts here. You’ll fit right in :D

Hi Dani! Welcome aboard. You're so busy! I'd like to get into illustrating some of my work eventually :] Sounds so fun!
@M thanks :3 I came up with it over coffee when I told my friend the original title and she said "-.- That sucks change it."
Me: "Oh, ok. :x"

Hello, I'm Oli Jacobs, and I write books...Oh you want more? Fair enough. Thus far, I've written a number of self published books, ranging from horror to comedy to utter madness. I am a big fan of most Genre Fiction, with my inspirado coming from the likes of Stephen King, HP Lovecraft, and others. However, as a film buff, I get a lot of ideas from that particular world.
So... yeah. That's all I can think to say right now. Hello, and... yes. *waves*
hi. I'm Dave and am so thankful for the invite. I just finished my first book...general fiction and have ideas for three more. This looks like a great group of writers...looking forward to the conversation.
Heck, this thread never reached my mailbox... WHY?!?!
I'd like to welcome everyone who's joined, and sorry for not doing it individually. :(

Update emails for me have been sketchy the last few weeks.
Yeah, I noticed a lot of threads were not reaching me lately.
I should have known better then to think that our group had gone quiet. :P
I'll know better next time.

I was just recently invited to the group, and have been reading some of the active threads with interest. Seems like a very good, engaged group. I have been writing novels since I was 12, but have only recently (last October) begun to publish. I just released my fourth last Friday. I write riveting young adult/suspense fiction about mental illness, addiction, and abuse.
You can see my books and trailers for each under my Goodreads profile, or at my website, pdworkman.com
Hello and welcome to the group P.D.
four novel since October? WOW, you're prolific! Cool!
Congratulations are in order. :)

Like I said, I started writing novels when I was 12, so in October I had a 42 book backlist. That said, I have completed writing 4 more since then, including one I just finished the first draft on yesterday. But it is interesting trying to juggle writing, editing, publishing, and marketing so many in such a short period of time. I'm learning all kinds of new things!

Hello. My name is Keair. I have two self published novels. The first, Castles Made of Sand, is a novel about a young woman coming of age in the 1960's and going from a small town girl to a protester in the middle of the madness. My second book, Beauty and the Beast, is a vampire version of Beauty and the Beast. For more information on my books, you can check out the descriptions or preview the novels on amazon. I look forward to being a part of this group. Thanks. :)

So, you're a writer and can draw your own work as well? That's very impressive- I love to draw but know I just don't have the skill to illustrate - I wish you lots of success
Hi Keair, I feel so fresh and free when I go to the natural promenades around my city, Shiraz. When I step on them; the cool breeze, beautiful gardens, streams of cold water emanating from the heart of rocks and then climbing the mountains covered with oak trees and beautiful plants and flowers; all of these recalls me of paradise. I hope you feel so when you stepped in this group. Welcome.
