Penney (pschoener) | 3553 comments Hi Ab2y
I just finished reading another of your picks, The Wallflower (Halle Pumas, #1) by Dana Marie Bell . It was cute, but far too short and rushed. I think it could've been a great read if it were more developed. Thanks for the push, it's been on my tbr for quite a while.

Ty | 1943 comments Hey Fran!

Finished Rock Chick Regret (Rock Chick, #7) by Kristen Ashley this morning. Looved it! It's gonna be sad saying goodbye to the Rock Chicks, even if I do wanna dive into Ally's book immediately! Thanks for the push :D

~Leslie~ (akareadingmachine) | 1934 comments Hi Roxy I started The Ghost Bride by Yangsze Choo and was really enjoying it but then my check out time was up on the ebook and it disappeared. I now have it on hold again, but it probably won't be available until Oct. But I plan on finishing it. It was intriguing.
I also read Hard Evidence (I-Team, #2) by Pamela Clare and gave it 5 stars. Not sure why it took me so long to get back to this series, but I loved this book and will definitely be reading more soon. Thanks for the push.

Carla (carlacollette) | 347 comments Zara--

I just finished my 5th (and likely last) PIFM book this month, When Autumn Leaves by Amy S. Foster . It was quite different, almost a series of short stories strung together by a contest to apprentice with the local wise woman. I liked it, thanks--it had been lingering on my TBR list too long.

message 459: by Ruth Ann (new)

Ruth Ann (ruthannsantiago) | 172 comments Hi Ty--I finished The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie (Highland Pleasures, #1) by Jennifer Ashley

Diane ~Firefly~ | 1512 comments Sandy,

I finished Love At First Date (Better Date Than Never #1) by Susan Hatler . It was a really good short story. I still plan to read Where'd You Go, Bernadette by Maria Semple , but I don't know if it will happen this month. Thanks again for the recs.

I have started City of Bones and will be starting Poison Study soon, but I doubt I'll have a chance to finish them before the end of the month, but if I do I'll let you know! Thanks so much for the great picks!

I finished Etiquette & Espionage (Finishing School, #1) by Gail Carriger . I liked it--loved the ending and would definitely read the next one. It took me a little while to get into it, but that might be the hecticness of the beginning of school has left me with little time to read :( I hope to get to Rock Chick before the end of the month. Thanks for the recommendation!

I have two more ready to go and will see if I can get them done before the end of the month. Thanks for all the great picks - even if I don't get all of them done by the deadline, they will definitely all be on my TBR pile until I do get to them.

Penney (pschoener) | 3553 comments Ab2y I was able to squeeze in another of your picks this month. Heartbreak Creek (Runaway Brides #1) by Kaki Warner was a surprisingly good read! It's been on my tbr for so long because I was expecting a bit of a boring read. Definitely not so. Thanks for the push...again :)

message 479: by ~Leslie~ (new)

~Leslie~ (akareadingmachine) | 1934 comments Daffodil, so glad you are enjoying all your picks. Jill Shalvis is a definite favorite of mine. And now I want to re-read Heart of Steel. It's been awhile.

I finished my second pick Cowboy Heat (Hell Yeah!, #1) by Sable Hunter and rated it 3 stars. They were things I liked and things I didn't but I enjoyed it overall. Thanks for your picks this month!

message 482: by Ty (new)

Ty | 1943 comments Fran and I finished our BR of Shine Not Burn. Great read, but a little rushed at the end. I will def pick up on some of the other books by the same author.

I didn't do too bad this month!
Surviving Raine (Surviving Raine, #1) by Shay Savage How to Misbehave (Camelot, #1) by Ruthie Knox After Hours by Cara McKenna Rock Chick Regret (Rock Chick, #7) by Kristen Ashley Shine Not Burn by Elle Casey

message 483: by ~KarenH~, Moderator (new)

~KarenH~ | 11338 comments Brandilyn, I managed to fit in one last pick before the end of the month. I read Saving Sean and really enjoyed it. The author's style is a little unusual (which I remembered from the first book in the series) but once I got used to it I liked the storyline and characters a lot...definitely will be continuing the series. Thanks for the push to get back to it!

Dee (austhokie) | 7316 comments nothing like finishing up a book on the second to last day of the month ;)

I finished up Barefoot in the Rain that Lisa recommended me and it was a cute second chance romance - I really liked Will and Jocelyn's romance and look forward to catching up with them again in the next book in the series

I managed to squeeze in Once and Always (Sequels, #1) by Judith McNaught before the end of the month and enjoyed it. I gave it 3 stars

message 491: by Zara's Retreat (new)

Zara's Retreat | 932 comments I finally managed to finish my book for this challenge, albeit a bit late. The book I read was Ladies' Night by Mary Kay Andrews and I gave it 4 stars. I really enjoyed it. It kept my interest and it wasn't a smutty romance. There were people in it who got their come-uppance (in other words, what they deserved) and others who came away with a new, and often times, better than expected outcome. I would certainly recommend reading it. Oh! By the way, it only took me 6 six days to read so it must have been good.
