Sara (leelan) | 17 comments What parts remind you of Twilight? It's been a while since I read it but read it back to back with Twilight and I didn't catch it.

message 60: by Jar (new)

Jar (jarjy) | 13 comments I don't think they are similar. The Host is just better.

Mellady77 Stibich | 47 comments The writing is better too, you can tell she took her time with it and there doesn't feel as though there are any "holes" missing.

According to one source, Stephenie said she was "almost done" writing the sequel to The Host in June of 2008. (http://www.twilightlexicon.com/?p=645)

Another source, MTV.com reports the following as of April 2008 (http://www.mtv.com/movies/news/articles/...)

MTV: Do you plan on writing "Host" sequels?

Meyer: I hope. If I were to continue on with "The Host," which is a possibility, there are characters and stories that could continue. ... If I went ahead with that, it would be two more. ... Next would be "The Soul," and then "The Seeker."

So I guess it remains to be seen if this book will be called "The Seeker" or "The Soul..."

According to Stephenie Meyer's website she doesn't have any release dates or further news on the book progress. But after what happened with Midnight Sun, could you blame her for keeping it a secret? I'm sure when she's finished with the book and a date is set, she will let us know. I will keep you updated.

Can u believe it??!!

message 76: by Aaric (new)

Aaric | 31 comments Yes

message 77: by Aaric (new)

Aaric | 31 comments I already knew

message 78: by [deleted user] (new)

??

message 79: by Tyler (new)

Tyler (tylernicole) | 5 comments ok, yeah the book was amazing, but if there was a sequel, what would happen? just more of what already did. more rescuing and trying not to get caught. it would be so boring and repetitive. i think the host should stay single, standing tall on its own

message 80: by Aaric (new)

Aaric | 31 comments Not necessarily, remember, the group was warming up to her and at the end she found another like herself. This could all lead to a revolt in the last book. Just one possibiity.

message 81: by Carly (new)

Carly yea that would be so good

message 82: by Aaric (new)

Aaric | 31 comments I came up with that on the spot

I don't think she's throwing the towl but I think she's going to do different things before doing Midnight Sun again. I think she said she will start the book when people stop harrassing her about it and forget about it. I would do the same thing personally. I feel so sorry for her, she's getting so much attention for these books. I'm glad people like them and all, she's a good writer but I mean there is some line where you can't handle that much attention.

You have given me hope. Thanks.

message 85: by Cari (new)

Cari Walker I just finished The Host last night. I loved it and I couldn't stop reading it. Stephenie meyer is an awesome writer. I was very happy with how The Host ended but i would be interested in reading the sequels if she wrote them.

message 86: by Leilani (new)

Leilani (trentleilani) | 5 comments Stephenie said on Oprah Thursday that The Host was her favorite and that would probably be her next book. yeah1!!!!

message 87: by Heather (new)

Heather (hwkl) Stephenie Meyer said that she would like The Host to a 3book series. Also, when the paperback comes out for the Host there will be an extra chapter.
I CAN'T WAIT!!!

message 88: by Paige (new)

Paige | 45 comments Mod
When is the paperback version coming out?! :D

message 89: by Emerald (new)

Emerald | 6 comments Oh ... I saw some information about the sequels of the host on Wikipedia . But I think it's unnecessary . The ending of The Host is perfect and if she tries to write another sequel , it won't be good anymore . The ending let us guess about the future of the humen , think about the true love at the end of the world . If she plans to write another sequel , it should be a different story but the same sittuation < about another souls , hosts and seekers> .

message 90: by Emerald (new)

Emerald | 6 comments In March 2008, Meyer said she was "almost done" writing a possible sequel to The Host, entitled The Soul.[75:] If she were to continue the series, the third book would be called The Seeker

message 91: by Samantha (new)

Samantha I think it would b good if she wrote a sequel to the host cause all her books have been great so far so most Likly it wouldn't disappoint!

message 92: by Yvonne (new)

Yvonne (mommairish) I really enjoyed this book (need to dig it out of storage to read again) and would love to see it continue. Stephenie Meyers is, in my opinion, a very talented and creative writer. I think she could pull it off without a hitch.

message 93: by Kayla (new)

Kayla | 5 comments I really need to read the next book or i will be reading the host till i know it all by heart and my sister will NEVER get to borrow it.

message 94: by Kaitlyn (new)

Kaitlyn (DeathNoteer) | 11 comments I really hope she makes a sequel but Stephenie Meyer hasn't mentioned it on her site. :/

message 95: by Michelle (new)
