This might have been "Cat Scratch fever but I am not sure. Spoilers
The main character was a woman who was infected? on purpose but something that made her partner have the opposite feeling. Dancing in fire would make her cold and her partner burn or something like that. Among other things it was supposed to show what level of self sacrifice the different dancers had and also empathic abilities but I can't remember if it was for am purpose or just to entertain those watching
