message 101: by Asha (new)

Asha | 1793 comments Brontie didn't even notice Lee walk away, she was too busy with Sari. She sat down in the floor cross legged so she would be at the little girl's height and started to sign to her "how old are you?" She asked Sari, patting the floor beside her, inviting her to sit down.

message 102: by Robingray (new)

Robingray | 295 comments "I'm six years old," Sari signed back proudly. "How old are you?" She asked, titling her head in curiosity. Across the room, Lee kept a corner of his brain focused on those two, but mostly focused on listening to Max talk about his day and then go off on a tangent about dinosaurs.

message 103: by Asha (new)

Asha | 1793 comments "Wow, your almost a lady" Brontie signed back with a big smile "i'm sixteen. Ten years older than you; the same as Lee" she looked around for Lee, panicking a little when she realised he wasn't beside her anymore but relaxing again when she saw him across the room with Max and the other little boys building towers. How come he always seemed to know just what she needed to feel better? How could someone know you that well after only a few hours?

message 104: by Robingray (new)

Robingray | 295 comments "Wow!" Sari signed back happily. "How did you meet Lee? Are you his girlfriend?" Across the room, Lee heard the thought and chuckled. He smiled up at Brontie, before turning back to one of the children gathered around him. 'Sari is a little inquizitive,' he thought to Brontie.

message 105: by Asha (new)

Asha | 1793 comments Brontie blushed at Sari's question and even more when She realised Lee had heard it too. "No. I only met Lee today, at the park. But we are still really good friends" she signed back to Sari and looked over at Lee smiling.

message 107: by Robingray (new)

Robingray | 295 comments Sari nodded. "That's boring though," she complained with a sly grin. "Besides, Lee's been alone for so long. Maybe that's why he's so frown-y all the time." Lee flinched at the girls hypothesis, waiting for the wave of questions he knew was coming.

message 108: by Asha (new)

Asha | 1793 comments Brontie was blushing furiously now "um... Yeah" she signed back quickly looking down at the floor. God she hoped Lee hadn't listened to any of that.

message 109: by Robingray (new)

Robingray | 295 comments It cheered Lee up to feel the equal rush of embarrassment come from Brontie, if only that she wasn't focusing on the later half of Sari's statement. "Do you want to color with us?" sari signed to Brontie.

message 110: by Asha (new)

Asha | 1793 comments Brontie glanced over at Lee quickly "yeah sure" she signed to Sari, happy for the change of subject. Lee obviously visited here a lot and the kids adored him, she hoped there was someway she could help, maybe she could volunteer here or something. She figured it would be good for her and the kids.

Robingray | 295 comments ((Sorry! Wanna time skip?))

message 114: by Asha (new)

Asha | 1793 comments ((Sure you start))

message 115: by Robingray (new)

Robingray | 295 comments Lee watched as the last of the children got picked up, smiling tiredly. He looked over at Brontie, tension almost completely absent from his shoulders. "I win at fieldtrips," he declared, standing up with a yawn.

message 116: by Asha (new)

Asha | 1793 comments "Definitely" she thought to him and took his hand "this is the best day i've had in years. Thank you so much Lee"

message 117: by Robingray (new)

Robingray | 295 comments Lee smiled, squeezing her hand back. "Then it's a good thing you met me, because I haven't even begun to show you all the awesome parts of the city."

message 118: by Asha (new)

Asha | 1793 comments She smiled "i would really love it if you would show me. I have no idea how you find all these places. I finding it hard to believe that i have had more fun today then i have had in the last ten years put together." Brontie though happily to Lee.

message 119: by Robingray (new)

Robingray | 295 comments Lee shrugged. "I have amazing anylitical skills. That's how I play with my Rubics Cube. If I touch all the squares, I can create a map in my head of what the cube looks like. With a constant stream of thoughts dedicated souly to direction, I can make a map of the city."

message 120: by Asha (new)

Asha | 1793 comments "Wow" she said "thats amazing. I wish i could do that. I would really like to take you to my favourite place though. Maybe we could meet up again tomorrow. I'm free." She said happily. She hoped Lee would be free too, she really wanted to spend another day with him.

message 122: by Robingray (new)

Robingray | 295 comments Lee smiled. "I will always clear my calendar for a day of galavanting around town with a good friend," he explained with a sly grin. "I don't really get up to a lot of things. Kind of spontaneous. So yes, I am totally free tomorrow."

message 123: by Asha (new)

Asha | 1793 comments Brontie smiled "so i'll meet you at the park? On the set where we met?" She asked through their thoughts. She was so happy that she could spend another day with Lee he really made the world look different. Which was kinda ironic considering he was blind.

message 124: by Robingray (new)

Robingray | 295 comments Lee nodded, smiling at her thoughts. "Remind me to share this poem with you tomorrow, I think you'll like it," he said, grabbing his jacket and heading towards the door. "See you tomorrow Brontie!"

((Time skip?))

message 125: by Asha (new)

Asha | 1793 comments ((Sure))

Brontie sat on the seat Lee had been occupying yesterday when they met. Her heart was full of excitement about another day with him, another day when her world was turned upside down.

message 127: by Robingray (new)

Robingray | 295 comments Lee walked to the park, spirits much lower than they had been the day before. He picked up on Brontie's thoughts, tapping into them. He pulled his sleeves down, forcing a grin as he approached his new friend, sitting beside her with a soft greeting.

message 128: by Asha (new)

Asha | 1793 comments Brontie sensed something wasn't right as Lee walked up to the seat but she wasn't sure. 'Hey' she thought to him as he sat down, a smile spreading across her face. She found his hand and intwined hers in it, worried about her inly friend.

message 129: by Robingray (new)

Robingray | 295 comments Lee smiled, really smiled, when Brontie took his hand. Her thoughts were happy and light and it was hard not to share her enthusiasm. "Thanks Brontie," he said quietly.

message 130: by Asha (new)

Asha | 1793 comments She squeezed his hand lightly and looked up at his face "are you feeling alright?" She asked softly through their thoughts, hoping he wouldn't get angry at her for asking. His energy was different today, and his thoughts seemed more confused and foggy, she was wondering what was on his mind.

message 131: by Robingray (new)

Robingray | 295 comments Lee shrugged, closing his eyes and just feeling the warmth of her hand. "Just some stuff happened last night," he dismissed with a shrug. "It's not really that big of a deal. Just kind of... Distracting, I guess."

message 132: by Asha (new)

Asha | 1793 comments "Oh" she thought to him, not really wanting to intrude "well you know you can tell me anything..." She hoped nothing too bad had happened but she didn't want to push him.

message 133: by Asha (new)

Asha | 1793 comments ...

message 134: by Robingray (new)

Robingray | 295 comments "I was walking home last night," Lee admitted. "I know I shouldn't be walking home alone, but I thought I could handle it."

message 135: by Asha (new)

Asha | 1793 comments She cupped his hand in both of hers and gently squeezed it "its ok" she thought to him softly "you can tell me". She felt really bed since she should have walked home with him but she hadn't even thought of it.

message 136: by Robingray (new)

Robingray | 295 comments Lee shrugged. "There were a few guys that were thinking some dark things. I got a little freaked out, so I crossed the street. They followed me."

message 137: by Asha (new)

Asha | 1793 comments Her eyes went wide "what did they do to you Lee?" She asked, hoping that he was ok but fearing the worst.

message 138: by Asha (new)

Asha | 1793 comments ...

message 139: by Robingray (new)

Robingray | 295 comments Lee shrugged. "Hit me around a bit. Figured out I was blind. Said some things, and then they left. It's not really a big deal."

message 140: by Asha (new)

Asha | 1793 comments She shook her head "no Lee it is a big deal. You should tell the police" she said, looking him up and down to se if he was ok "did they hurt you?" She said like an overprotective mother.

message 141: by Robingray (new)

Robingray | 295 comments Lee shook his head. "It's useless. How's a blind kid supposed to identify a couple of criminals?" He asked, leaning his head on Brontie's shoulder. "I'm okay."

message 142: by Asha (new)

Asha | 1793 comments She smiled "oh sorry. I forgot" she thought looking down at him "hey you said you'd read me a poem today" she said softly, brushing some hair from his face.

message 143: by Robingray (new)

Robingray | 295 comments Lee smiled, glad for the topic change. "Well, the end of a poem. Have you ever read any Lord Tennyson?"

message 144: by Asha (new)

Asha | 1793 comments She shook her head "no. Hey lets go lay on the grass" she thought, looking at the lush grass just over the pathway.
