The only thing I don't get is how could Claire think it was a dream once she slept with Tony he she said she was tired but come on !! Plus she was not absolutely drunk or pissed or even drugged for that matter I mean I have exhausted lots of times even if I have been carried to bed I do have conscious feeling I have been carried so can she have sex and not remember she knew unconsciously she was be in then in morning she never remembered a single thing how is that can only if she drugged I now it's a small aspect but I still think it seems stupid

I agree. My eyes nearly rolled right out of my head.

You guys are lucky this is the only part you have a problem with. My issue is just with the WHOLE story ! I just don't understant hhow Claire is gonna tell her daughter how she and her Dad met and what horrible things he did to her. I mean come on! some things just aren't erasable , maybe they can be forgiven but forgotten? I don't think so. The whole idea is just crazy!

SPOILERS: In Behind his Eyes, there's an author's note regarding this scene and it's controversy. Although auth doesnt clarify, she does state that it's not what most reader's think it is. By this i'm assuming rape. Also, in this same book, during this scene, Tony does ask Claire mulitple times if she is awake and is ok w/ sex, etc. Leads me to conclude that auth did NOT mean for it to be unconsensual sex.

Either way Tony is a grade A, unfiltered A$$hole but alas, had to read all the books, like a train wreck- u can't look away.

When I got to that scene, I almost threw my Kindle across the room. Honestly, is it so hard for a woman to have a backbone now? After everything she went through, how the hell could she forgive him? I would take my child and RUN, way before he found out.

Yes, this was a WTF for me too. If was hard to believe that when he leaves the condo she "leans against the door" indicating it was closed, and yet Tony comes back "moments later", the door is open and she is so sleepy she doesn't know she is being carried into the bedroom and made love to.

And then to top it off, after over a year without sex, when she wakes, her body doesn't tell her something sexual has happened.

I think Claire knew it was real, but didn't want to admit it because that would mean she enjoyed it when she's suppose to hate him right? I mean there's a very thin line between love & hate...

Claire was on a lot of medication from her head injury. I took one percocet and was out of it for 2 days. So I attributed it to that. But, it's just a story. Happy reading Convicted!

Elena what do you mean she was on medication from her head injury!? What head injury!? SHE JUST GOT OUT OF JAIL - where she spent a few years... no Percocet ...more

Thought that was so weird that the author pulled that one on her intelligent readers. It felt ridiculous.

Carolyn I understand what your saying but that explanation doesn't make sense either because clare was only on meds when she had the "accident" as tony n clare called it after that she was off it thats how she had later increased problems in book 3

Yeah mojd but in this situation if it was real a mother would only discuss things like that when her child is at a mature age by that time the child has spent years with her dad seen feel loved her dad not the abuser so she would see the difference and he did repented for what he did. Take real life domestic abuser partners some don't change end result is the relationship ends wheras a very few i am not saying all but realize what they did was wrong repent and repeat the abuse ever again in that situation the mum would do the same

Ummm.....I think she 'knew', but didn't want to admit (to herself) that it was happening. "if I keep my eyes closed, I can pretend it's not real" kind of thing.
I'm willing to cut-some-slack.

It was everything you suspected it be and more. No doubt in my mind. Crazy, all the way.

I'm on medication that makes me drowsy. Many times I found myself unsure of weather my husband and I had sex or not. Considering that Claire had vivid dreams even before the incident the scene was totally credible to me. Remember as well she did not sleep at all the night before and was really tired.

I have even been unable to figure if my wetness in the morning was my hubby or me and my dreams. As for soreness... Women are not sore after every sexual act and also there is nothing to suggest it was rough sex. So this scene is totally possible.

As for Tony saying she consented many a morning my husband is telling me of the conversations we had of which I have no recollection.

I agree that some other things took way more faith to believe... Like her not trying harder to escape. Even in her inner thoughts I was surprised she did not think and plan escape more... Even if in the end she scraps the idea because it is too risky... I expect her to at least consider it.

Yes this was ridiculous and not believable. Not that I haven't heard of people who practically have sex in their sleep. I even have a friend who's such a heavy sleeper that she half moves around and has several times woken up during sex. Having said that Claire has shown us absolutely no history to lead a person to believe she's like that.

I think that Claire is in denial, she did remember that she was carried to bed by Anthony but the only way she could justify her own actions was to tell herself that she was drunk and tired. Claire does not want to take a good look at herself and, admit that she loves Anthony's dominate behavior.

The thing that amuses me about these novels is that most of the women seem like they can"t make up thier own minds or stand up for themselves. They are constantly looking for a man to define them, but that being said it's fun reading and i don't think any of us whould trade places with these damsels in distress.

i am astounded about the fact that claire could trust so easily on harry when everything seems fishy about his research about chester from the beginning and what about amber when she easily accepts all her wrongdoings and everything like they are friends forever??and why hasn't she doubted catherine from the beginning??.i thought she would be more careful and focused on revenge and learning tony's motivations and not to make a cavalier relationship with harry....i mean that guy is clearly smitten by her yet she convinces herself that friend with benefits arrangement will not hurt him.(i am not including perspective when we know harry in convicted, that will make his all actions downright manipulative and betraying instead of supportive and loving)where is her conscience and "too much caring" nature we all famously read about??if she had met someone outside this weird friendship far after knowing tonys motivations they have then it would have been accepted more by the readers, right?i think it would have.other than this, the author did a brilliant job of telling the tale with everyone's motive(except for the a fore mentioned)for their actions....in that department she is awesome!
