I'm sure their daughter would know something like that has happened way before she is 18 and I think it doesn't matter how much love my father has shown me during the years if I find out that he has done to my mother 1 percent of what Tonny did to Claire the least I would do is that I would never ever acknowlegde him as my father. I'm not sure how much you are familiar with victims of rape but I have never seen a product of rape in real life who doesn't have a problem with it. Real life just isn't that way.
Well that is real life and your correct but was she raped the first book was pure vague they called it accident I don't know but I do understand where your coming from if its physical abuse and the husband has stopped completely there might be 10% that he might get forgiven and in my eyes there is no forgiveness for rape . The daughter could also question yes Tony redemption confessed went jail for 7years but where was his punishment from Claire ? There are lots of questions but its a work of fiction when Claire was institutionalized I never understood the over protective control her sister had on her is was overbearing I understand it was hard for to accept the whole situation but if a person has went thronged abuse Claire had the counselling sessions, doctors etc would want Claire to talk about everything especially Tony but in this book Tony was disappear from Claire since she was institutionalized that was hard to believe again when Claire was with Tony her sister was not worried then yes she got txt , emails from. Tony pretending to be Claire but that was it her sister never tried hard when talked to Claire then met her approach was questioning when Claire got defensive her sister never tried just gave up your family would not do that I think her brother in law tried better than her sister . It never sat well with me I mean Tony lawyer friend wife can't remember her name she asked Claire didn't get answer saw Claire panicky defensive approach then she tried a different method she was sensitive Claire was 99% close too telling her but 1% stopped her. It's fictional stuff we have never came across any real rape case where the abuser has redemption and has been forgiven.what I found mostly annoying was tiny controlled Claire most of her life then her sister took over but what about claire
for my own sanity i like to believe she loved tony post incineration at their paradise period or i will go mad.her post therapy confession reveals she reflected on her abusive two years and still forgave anthony for it(while i may not like it, i still get her perspective.afterall he might still be an arrogant dick but he took punishment and therapy was his guilt in abusing and raping claire.which i can say is still marginally better than her going back to excuse filled dick bag again )
