Sample QR Interactive smart phone pages

I am not sure if anyone here has heard this, but this summer I've been working at making my digital and paperback books INTERACTIVE.

Whereas most novels are designed to be read straight through cover to cover, my books feature appendices that enhance the reading experience, something also seen in The Lord of the Rings and Marion Zimmer Bradley's Avalon series.


The problem I've found is that often readers do not flip to the back of the book to read this content -- at least not while reading the book.

The solve this problem and therefore maximum reader enjoyment, I created more than 100 individual web pages and QR codes for smartphones. In the digital editions, I insert hypertext links to each special web page; for the paperback, smart phone readers scan the square QR codes with their phones to access this content.

So far I've succeeded in fully indexing book one, The Great Succession Crisis in both digital formats and QR interactive (the regular paperback copies do not have QR codes except in the reference article on heraldry). I am working on book two, The Ghosts of the Past.
