Once again, I am going on vacation right after posting tasks - hmmm.............I hate to think my life is so tied to the SRC! I should have internet access to respond to questions, but if I'm a little slow, please be patient.

Also, I have started this book prior to the challenge. According to the rules page, rule #10 about prereading, the book falls into the criteria. The book is more than 499 pages and I have more than 50% left to read.

sure, unless you live in that fantasy universe, LOL! (I've always thought I'd like to live, or at least vacation, on Darkover or in Valdemar!)

as long as the fantasy/alternative version is not a version of your current country? Such as an alternative USA not allowed for USA residents? Or is it still allowed?

You're correct that an alternative version of your country of residence will not work - even if it's alternative, it's still the same country, more or less.

You can use it if it's over 50% in space, rather than the US. You'll need to explain this when you post.

no, that won't work - the task is to read a book set in another country or another planet (including space). This isn't a genre task.
