SOLVED. Book about Scotland and a ship. [s]

I'm thinking this is an older book, maybe 1880-1930, but I'm not sure. Could be slightly earlier or slightly later.

I recall something about a storm in Scotland, and a man on a boat with a fever and maybe his boat crashed and he was starving? Something about a town and a lot of money involved, like maybe this guy was in the government.

I know I'm providing very vague info! LOL I was in 6th grade when I read it (2001) and I hated it, but in recent years it's bothering me that I can't remember the title!

Hmmm, possibly Kidnapped by Robert Louis Stevenson? I don't recall details but it's got Scotland and a shipwreck. Maybe a ransom?
