C.E. Martin (cemartin2) | 37 comments So for my book series I have a vampire character I am cinsidering killing off (for shock value). I want to have her speared throught the heart and then her head taken off, turning her to dust... Making the reader think, oh, crap, she's gone (resurrection/reanimation if dead characters is a recurring theme in the series).

But I'm wondering,,, could i come up with a plausibke way to bring someone back from that? I've read books where a stake in the heart and a cut iff head resulted ih dead vamp, but when the head was replaced and stake removed their skeleton came back to life.

If i had a plausibel way to recoinstitute ashes, would that be okay, or too far outside of the norms of vampire mythology?

How do you plan on reconstituting the ashes?

Margaret | 13 comments In the old Marvel Dracula comic they used the tears of a virgin (and stated that the blood of one would also have worked). Whether they got that from folklore or just made it up, I have no clue!

C.E. Martin (cemartin2) | 37 comments The Fountain of Youth.

It's central to my series, and has been used to brign other characters back. The gimmick I use is that what the Fountain gives it takes back twice as much, at midnight. Have aleg missing? It grows back, then both vanish at midnight. The spiel given to characters previosuly is that you'd turn to dust if brought back to life and left otherwise alone.

So using it to bring someone back to life who IS dust might be interesting.

Thanks margaret! I couldn't remember where that took place. They did it in the Doctor Strange comics too, right?

I don't think that's too farfetched

That I couldn't tell you, since I didn't follow Doctor Strange as consistently ... but it wouldn't surprise me if they made that bit of lore part of the "Marvel Universe."
