Chapter 16 (and I can see why people compared Half Blood to this. Very similar in a way but I think I like this better)

Have you read Half Blood then?I read Covenant after VA,but since there was a huge time gap between them,it didn't matter much to me.

Yup I read Half Blood like a year ago so I don't remember much now lol except the general plots.

I really liked Rose. I also loved the bond between her and Lissa and that (view spoiler)[ Lissa' shadow-kissed guardian (hide spoiler)] Now I'm excited for the movie :)

I just started book 1! 23% in, about Chapter 5 or 6, I think. It has a lot of similarities to Half Blood. Wait, scratch that. It really is EXACTLY like it. Names are just changed! I read Half-Blood in July and now I want to go back and rate it a 1-star. This is unfair for the Richelle Mead to have someone copy her work without getting caught. Such act of plagiarism shouldn't be tolerated.

I've read the first installment more than a year ago and I remember liking it.. but I don't exactly remember the plot... I hope I'll be able to catch up with it fast :)

I admire Rose's concern for Lissa. It's really different and indescribable. She sees it not only as a responsibility but out of protection and care. The Vladimir-Karp-Lissa theory didn't surprise me. after all, it doesn't have to be all goodness when it comes to saints. And I think I have an idea what 'shadow-kissed' means though not really sure.

Unlike Half-Blood, there are no romantic interactions happening, yet, between Dimitri & Rose. I'm a sort of regretting that I read Half-Blood first, and recently. Some stuff are becoming predictable because of the copying of it, and it only makes me angry about Half-Blood.

It's like Rose is the Apollyon here, connecting through Lissa with the bond. I don't know if other people know about (view spoiler)[Lissa's healing, except Rose, of course. I can't remember if anyone knew of that... But it's pretty clear at the start why Victor would've kidnapped her, seeing Natalie's behavior. Still, I think it's sort of psycho. He could've just asked her, instead of kidnapping. Unless there are other reasons, which I suspect, too. I've also found that necklace suspicious, but I never thought it would be about 'lust'. I just know it's set to distract her, but not in that kind of way. LOL. (hide spoiler)]

Do I sense a love triangle? Lol! I think that it's already expected :)

I love love love this book! I keep putting it off because it's entirely vampires, but Richelle Mead made me feel blown away by the world building, the politics, hierarchy, and a lot of twists and turns. Some are predictable but it still left me anticipation. I love the secondary characters. I never expect to like (or hate) Christian. I thought I'll just feel neutral about him like other secondary characters do. He's swoon worthy! And Dimitri, too! Forbidden love may be popular in YA and sometimes are cliched but it leaves us excitement on how and what they'll go through to pursue such kind. I'm happy to see Rose's character development. I was expecting for it to not gradually happen since this is quite a lengthy series, but I still liked how she transformed into a mature, open-minded character. Her name doesn't fit her, but who cares? Haha! I also like Lissa's transformation. I hope she becomes a bit bad-ass like her bestfriend in the next books!

From the start, I completely agree with Tasha's cause. (view spoiler)[I mean, seriously!!?? The Moroi's job is to just populate their community? And just because they're Royal and they have guardians to protect them doesn't meam they should feel reassured and pass to them their duty to let them stay alive. Don't they realize the world is dangerous now that there are more Strigoi lurking. Besides, what are those elements/powers are for? Props? Design? LOL. They should also know how to defend themselves. :) And the Moroi rule of using powers sounds really stupid. HAHA.

I'm getting really hooked with this series. We learn more about the Strigoi, which was really interesting, and then there's Rose's transformation and maturity and being open-minded. I'm.excited to know how Adrian talks to people in their dreams, and how he'll teach Lissa to do it, IF she can do it. There's the medication & pills as well... (hide spoiler)]
