Mostly what I do is post on my Facebook page whenever I have an upcoming book review or have posted something. And, I invite as many friends as possible to "like" my page. I also promote my blog on other social media websites and writing websites.

I also link to my new posts on Facebook. Something else I've found useful is finding the authors whose works I'm reviewing on Twitter and mentioning them when I post my reviews there. They'll often reply, and sometimes they'll even RT, which is nice. Every little bit helps!

I'm not very good with social networking, so the only one I keep regularly updated is my Twitter page.
I'm excited about meeting other YA fiction bloggers so we can discuss books and get into the community!
Hiya! I'm a mom that reads and occasionally writes books. My blog is http://fit4amom.blogspot.com. I do book promotions for authors and reviews. I do it for free because I love books and authors.
I have been blogging for a few years now and built quite a reputation for promoting bloggers and authors in my blog tours. If you ever want to join me in a book promo or want me to blog with you, let me know?

Just wondering what your thoughts are about responding to poor writing when you review a book.
Thanks :)
Also... how do you choose what to review? There's so many!
I have reviewed a lot of Indie authors, some were fantastic, some told a great story with lousy grammar and a ton of spelling mistakes and some needed another job. I am always honest, I don't think you're doing anybody a favor by giving a 3 or 4 star review to a one star book. But....I am never mean. Sometimes that's hard, really really hard. I will say flat out though look your story was great but you really need an editor. High profile authors and big publishing houses uses them, nothing wrong with that. When I find myself conflicted about it though is when I have signed up for a blog tour, a blog tour is a promotional event and the expectation is a good review. Since I am a last minute chick most of the time I have been stuck with books that sucked that needed a positive review and too late to back out, thus I don't do blog tours anymore unless it's an author I am familiar with and like their work.
I choose books to review that interest me, when I first started blogging I signed up for everything. Oy vey the crap I forced myself to read! Now I sign up for reviews by picking books the same as I would in a book store. I blog for fun, not publicity I am not an author or editor or have no service to sell so I can afford to be fussy.

I read anything and everything that interests me from the synopsis. I try not to be too picky and choosy because I don't get review requests very often. When I find something that's . . . well, Literally Challenged I try not to make it sound horrible, though I don't try to sugar coat it. I try to give them constructive criticism. Like Laurie says above me, I don't give them a favor by making the star rating higher than it should be.

luckily I haven't had to give a book less than 3 paws (my scale). I did not read a book one time because I couldn't get into it and truthfully said so. I think an author would rather someone say they just couldn't get into the book then leave a bad review.

Would anyone accommodate me? Thanks.
Shane

It is just reviews of, mostly YA, fantasy, paranormal and dystopian books. I would love it if you visit my blog.
Thanks

I do reviews, recommendations, author interviews, and more for books of various genres that may be of interest to dark-minded readers--including: classic Gothic Romance, paranormal romance, dark fantasy, dystopia, horror, thriller, mystery, and more!

for a short period of time while I was accepting anything to read/review but then got shocked by some of the genres because it didn't seem like the book was erotica and clearly didn't say that....so now I'm choosier. Plus I have a backlog of books to read for review and of course my books to read for fun!
I'm always looking for ways to get my blog out there and am interested in hearing what others do to promote their blog.
