Different spellings of an author's name in different languages

Petronius is spelled Pétrone in French and sometimes Petronio in Spanish, resulting in multiple profiles for the same author. Is there anything we can do about this problem?

The first thing is to make sure that all of the books have the same primary author name -- Petronius, in this case, since that's the standard English spelling -- so that all editions of the same book can be combined regardless of language. Then editions which use markedly different spelling of the author's name can have that spelling as a secondary author. The bios for each of these variations should have a link to the primary author, whose bio ideally should also have a list of all of the variations.
