However, I felt the opposite about The Blood of Angels. There are parts of it I did like, but there are also long sections that really, really drag.
I'd be interested in reading more.

Yeah... Tartarus puts out real quality lit... particularly their contemporary stuff. Are you reading anything published by Ex Occ? If not, you really should be... ;)

I'm sure you will be getting O Altitudo from EO... sometime you just need to be a little persistent ; )
You won't be disappointed though... despite it being a smallish book, the stories are fantastic!! I enjoyed this little collection greatly. I believe Stromsholt was published again in Sacrum Regnum II and will also have a new Ex Occ publication coming out later in the fall, entitled Flammable Materials/Salamander Heart.
Thanks for your kind words about my review. I really enjoyed Reggie's new novel. I feel like I didn't say everything I wanted to say in my review, though. I would love to get a discussion group going on this novel. Some many wonderful themes and so richly delivered...

Hey Mike, I think there is still some Ex Occ books that have not been sold out and that have not rose to exorbitant prices on the secondary market. One book that I would highly recommend is DEFEAT OF GRIEF, by John Howard, which I'm sure you can still get directly from EO at a decent price.
The price point for entry into the EO line is on the high side for small presses, but if you have the money and are driven by a collector's mania... ; )
I find these books to be irresistible.

I only have a few of the Ash Tree. I would love to have the MR James Omnibus as well as the three Lamsley's. I think I only have Reggie Oliver's Masque of Satan and a short story collection by Richard Marsh. Very nice books of course... a real shame that they are moving only into the direction of e-pub. I don't even own a nook or kindle... and don't think I will ever. I am a bit of a luddite when it comes to books... =)

Btw Mike, what has been your favorite Tartarus Press release so far?

I'm jealous Randolph... I enjoyed Tales of Love and Death. I will slowly acquire the entire Tart Aickman collection... I think.

Yeah... I think you would like Barron... but be prepared... Barron just brutalizes his characters with such a cold and callous cosmos. Dark dark stuff... but of so well written.
