ASINS for DE or EN edition of ebook?

Hi,

I'm trying to add the rest of the Dray Prescot Saga, but the asins are assigned to the original German editions, but even on Amazon.DE the asin gives the English editions. I was wondering if those were used as a placeholder and if I should put then on the English edition or keep them with the German one?

That is the problem, the German ones in amazon.DE are the english editions, when you search with the ASINS.

BUT those books come out first in german and then get translate in english, so most ASINS are placed on the german edition (script added the books I think).

I did not find a German edition in amazon.de

The question is is it possible the ASIN is re-used for different language editions?

I can't find any evidence that there was a German-language Kindle edition, and these Kindle editions are pretty clearly the English-language ones. Since the only text review on that edition is pretty clearly of the English-language Kindle edition, I would say merge it into that edition.

I thought the books are being translated because I read somewhere else the last ones are not yet translated - 45 to 50 something. But the German editions have translator it seems, so you might be right. The older editions have legitimate German covers:

The first thirty-seven volumes were published by DAW Books from December 1972 to April 1988; to date, print editions of the later volumes have been published solely in German translation by Wilhelm Heyne Verlag from 1991 to 1998.

Note: as later volumes were published only in German, for the sake of completeness both English and German titles are provided.
