Ooops, forgot about those ones on the previous page...! Anyway, looks like upto #170 has now been done. Going to work through some of the others.

Ack, should have checked back, but thought they were all done now! Anyway, they are done now (some had been done, but all checked)! :)
According to Worldcat, F.F. Raskolʹnikov was correct. Have also corrected the author information with Thermionic Converters And Low Temperature Plasma.
Plus one thing I also do is combine books after merging authors, where required. Could save some time later. :)
Up to #178 is now done (and #189-91 have also been done, as per above). There were a few complicated ones in that lot, but I checked both Worldcat and Amazon - Worldcat seems to favour full author names, whereas Amazon often favours initials. I've used whichever one made most sense based on the mess the author name was in in the first place. The most complicated, however, was Roland Holland, as Amazon has his name listed twice - once with an initial in the middle, as the author, and again, without, as editor.
Pages 1-3 definitely now all completed.Janeka wrote: "#189 - #191 done.
Is it possible to delete author's profiles pages?"
Yes ( and permitted if no books, no fans, and no quotes) but not necessary as an automated script (auto-sweep) runs sporadically to clear authors with no books. If it seems like you have deleted an author that keeps coming back, that's likely from a data feed goodreads is using to import data.

Yup, combine 'em when you see them.
In my experience, almost always best to edit author profile (rather than book data) if running across an incorrect author name -- let's the author be merged if there's an exisiting valid author and still puts the book on the author dashboard only also makes sure other books move as well. Two exceptions: if author has a role (editor, translator, illustrator) on a book it's best to edit book data to add role then edit author profile or if you are doing a task requested by a goodreads author to correct/merge book data ( only staff can merge to goodreads author profile so rather than hold up requesting author just edit author name on the book data).
