LOL. My advice: finish one or two and do t start another one until you are down to at least one book. I know it can be hard but that's what I am doing as of now and it is really working.:D

maria. (thecharacterstudy) | 22 comments Like Victoria I prefer to read one at a time so I focus more on the story.

message 57: by Megan (new)

Megan Lots and lots
like 5 to 6
now usually:
1 is audio,
1 is non-fiction,
but I will read up to 4 physical books of fiction at the same time. Though I notice I do focus on 1, primarily and read the other 3 slower.

message 58: by Hazell (new)

Hazell (hazellcharman) | 212 comments 2 but most of time I only read 1

message 59: by Lynn (new)

Lynn Lovegreen (lynn_lovegreen) I have read up to three books at a time due to work, etc. But I prefer to read one book at a time. I like to savor the experience. :-)

message 60: by Vicki (new)

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 31156 comments Jacquelyn, you're right but...know what I mean? Say no to a buddy read I REALLY want to do? I need TIME to catch up, but I should listen to your words of wisdom!

message 61: by Jacquelyn, thebrunettebooknerd (new)

Jacquelyn (jacquelynreads) | 18790 comments I do know what you mean! :D I am going to start using my own advice as of tomorrow! We can do this together! :D I will finish all my books until I am down to one and from then on only read 1-2 books at a time and force myself to stay away from the buddy reads folders!

I know what you mean, but.... I love to discuss what I read so much I hate feeling like I'm missing out on something good! Bah!

message 63: by Mehsi (new)

Mehsi Mostly I am reading around 1 to 3 books. :)

Gina (My Precious Blog) | 21 comments I'm reading 4 right now:

Throne of Glass
Rise of Empires
Will in Scarlet
Magic Marks the Spot

message 65: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (originally_elle) | 252 comments I can read up to 4 books at once but I prefer to stick to just one book at tine because I tend to get wrapped up in ONE story and hate to split my attention

message 66: by Natalie (new)

Natalie (flyingmonkey22) | 38 comments The highest amount I've read at the same time, was 7 books. Took a lot of brain power though haha

message 67: by Adam (new)

Adam (amilesb) | 44 comments I think 4 would be the highest for me.
But I will say I have tried to read 3 books in 3 different languages several times --> that gets me really confused!

message 68: by Tiffanie (new)

Tiffanie (tiffanie_s) | 40 comments Well I can read a lot of books at once, I always seem to remember everything thats going on. Though I'm bad at remembering everything else.

message 69: by C. (new)

C. I have never thought about the CAN, but it's either 1 book I just read because I can't stop, or it's around 3-5 and I switch between them, depending on my mood.

There's also the books I read in bed, the books I carry around with me (mostly those on my kindle, because it's the least heavy) and those that are just next to me all the time.

I do usually have one main book though and read the others if I don't feel like reading the main book.

Have you ever started and finished a novel in one day?

message 71: by Patricia (new)

Patricia Hamill (patricia_hamill) I usually read about 3 at once, but I've gotten up to 6. Often, I'll read one paperback/hardcover and the rest will be ebooks in various formats. I haven't tried audiobooks.

message 72: by Veronica (new)

Veronica | 164 comments one is all i can handle

message 73: by Dahiany (new)

Dahiany (clockworkocean) | 10 comments 2-3, but I prefer nothing else, because I tend to get the plots mixed up

message 74: by Maddie (new)

Maddie (maddisonbruce) | 12196 comments At the moment, I'm reading something like 8 or 9. XD

message 75: by Maddie (new)

Maddie (maddisonbruce) | 12196 comments And I don't get confused.

Bridget's Quiet Corner (chaptersandscreens) One physical book and One on the Kindle. My kids tend to take over my Kindle, so I will read a physical book when they have it...or I just don't feel like reading on the Kindle. :-)

message 77: by Nirmala (new)

Nirmala (nirmalaneupane) 2 or 3!

message 78: by Silvia (new)

Silvia Meadows (smeadows1984) | 310 comments 2 books for me. I tried reading 3. It didn't work out so well. I was so unorganized/unfocused. I didn't know which one I needed to read. I just kept looking at each one, indecisive and eventually decide on the one I'd barely touched.

message 79: by Temmie (new)

Temmie (temmiereads) 1 is the highest I reached. I feel so slow now.

message 80: by Paige (last edited Nov 23, 2013 12:02AM) (new)

Paige Yin (paigeyin) | 168 comments 4 at most. but 1-2 should be rereading - any form, 1 on kindle, 1 physical book.

message 81: by Maria (new)

Maria (typical) | 10 comments the most that i can read at once is 2 or 3 depending on what the books are about

message 82: by Macy (new)

Macy | 4 comments I can usually read 3-4 books at the same time I can usually tell the story lines apart

message 83: by tolu (new)

tolu (afronation) Only one but I read it quite swiftly I think, reading more than one book at a time makes me confuse the storylines and sometimes ruins books for me :)
