Also just to let hall know, if this is ok, I'm not going to be posting anymore because I just want to read it. It's taking me a really long time to get through this and I think if I just sit down and read it, it will go faster. So that's what I'm going to do.

I'm done! And I have to say that that epilogue was interesting. I enjoyed the book but thought it was kind of boring at times.

After Chapter 6: This was not what I expected ~ there's an epidemic of teenage suicides, so they've developed a Program to deal with the problem. I'm surprised at how little emotion I feel for these upset and depressed teens. Sloane hasn't impressed me at all, but I do like James and his sense of humor.

(view spoiler)[The Handlers taking teens screaming from school seemed a little contrary to trying to keep the teens calm.

I found it strange that they kept talking about how Sloane doesn't know how to swim. Foreshadowing?

Finished part 1. Its a bit dapressing to read. I think it's more depressing if you knoew someone who died. Hoping things will get a little more chery.

(view spoiler)[ It would be hard to live in a world that suicide was contagious. Can you imagine getting your mind erased and not even recognizing your loved ones. it's just horrible. Then on the other hand you may have a loved one who doesn't know you anymore. So sad....then they expect you to not be depressed. That just depressing.

I think it's sweet that James has his friends and family that committed suicide tattooed on his shoulder. This way he won't forget because he'll have reminders on him forever.

I couldn't stand not being able to show any emotions after my friends die or get taken away. Its absured that there unable to mourn. Just a whole bunch of depression going on so far.

Finished part two.(view spoiler)[ It doesn't make sense to tell someone they can't mourn for a loved one or friend that's died. We know that not going through the process of morning loss will cause a lot of problems. It actually makes you more likly to become depressed.

(view spoiler)[ I feel bad for Miller about Lacy. The poor guy! It was so sad when Miller takes the QuickDeath. I got teary eyed.

1this book has a lot of emotion with in it and I love that. A good sign of a writer. I cried in the end of chapter 7 it was James's reaction to millers death that got me choked up.

this epidemic of contagious suicide is the worst thing. I feel so much for Sloan. everyone she loves from 18 under is ether dyeing or put into the program to forget her. I think anyone would loose their grip from this.

Part I: So far this has a been a depressing and predictable story. (view spoiler)[Okay, everyone could see that Miller was going to commit suicide and that James and Sloane would get taken. I'm surprised that it took as long as 121 pages to get it done.

I understand that parents have jobs they can't leave, but I would think that teens encountering friends and lovers that don't remember them would be very depressing. I don't think they should allow teenage visitors at all. And maybe they should totally relocate the re-programmed.

Relationships keep us engaged in life and bring happiness. Heart breaks definitely cause depression and angst, but wouldn't the good offset the bad?

Through chapter 4 of part 3. (view spoiler)[ I can believe everybody's trying to keep Sloane and James apart because they have a past. Neather of them know or remember that past. There both retorners, there saposed to move on with there lives. There trying to be friends, and everybody is trying to stop it, dont they realize that by doing that Sloane and James at the very least would maby get saspises that theres something more going on. (view spoiler)[ I completely see both sides to the program personal responses. Sloan hates it cause they erase your memory. Parents love it because at least their child didn't die.

I don't think she's infected yet. She tried to save herself, other wouldn't ave tried.

I'm angry the program erased the tattoo's off of Jame's shoulder. I'm also so mad at the mom right now.

I wounder why the guy in the program is so nice to her. I think the guy with the R name has feelings for her.

Sloan's handler is a disgusting pig. I bet her violated her when she was drugged.

I'm so glad rogers fired. I feel upset every time I read that Sloan has to tell more about James just to lose the memories.

It's plain out devastating.

Part II - The Program:
This part was faster and more interesting. (view spoiler)[ Red pill makes you more relaxed, willing to talk and marks the memories. Then yellow pill makes you forget the marked memories. Scary.

I thought that Realm might be a Program plant. He seemed to have too much clout and didn't seem as depressed as the others.

Roger creeped me out from the time he was watching Sloane in high school. I'm glad that she might keep a memory thanks to Roger's purple pill, but kissing him was repulsive.

I'm glad that they didn't make Sloane forget Brady. Why would changing their appearance upon leaving The Program matter?

Do Nurse Kell and Dr. Warren really believe in The Program and helping these adolescents?

I have a thought on your question. (view spoiler)[ Perhaps having them change there appearance is to help them with the transition from thboth the program and there past lives, to moving into there new lives. People will charge there appearance after going through something bad. It may just be to make them feel better about themselves. Just a thought. (view spoiler)[ (hide spoiler)] (hide spoiler)]

Finished part 3.(view spoiler)[ I was so happy that Sloane and James get back togeath to spite all the bad things that have happened to try and split them up.

I couldn't believe that Realm gave her that orange pill to give her her memories back. Thats just insane. And finding out that the entire card game was nothing more than a plant, even the girl with the saposed memory loss. That's really messed up of them. And it begs the question, how many kids are there actually working for the program and how many of the kids that you see in the program are actual pasents.

And I have to wait to find out wat will happen in book two. I have to get it through the interlibrary loan program, that can take up to six or eight weeks. (view spoiler)[ (hide spoiler)] (hide spoiler)]

Part 2 Chapter 2 to end of book.

Can't wait till next book. An emotional read. You need to read this with tissues near buy. I have never cried this much from a book. You should avoid reading if ur over emotional. you will end up with sore eyes lol. Loved the ending a great cliffhanger. excellent book.

Part III - Wish You Weren't Here:
This was the best part by far. It was strange and things happened unbelievably quickly. Also, if your memories were taken (view spoiler)[ would you really be physically involved with a stranger? But the idea that you can't thwart true love was sweet. And the way holding each other felt good and natural and exciting.

I was sad that James wasn't the fun, sweet guy anymore and that he was angry and frustrated. Could that have been true love that you didn't remember manifesting itself?

Realm seemed to genuinely care for Sloane. I was a little annoyed that she would kiss and snuggle with Realm even though she was only interested in being friends.

Her former best friend, Lacey, being the only new friend that she makes seems a bit too farfetched. I could suspend belief for James, after all, she has the picture of James and Brady to bring them together, but Lacey too?!

I liked Realm's sister offering to help Sloane and James. They would need the aid if they were to escape successfully. But will they escape into suicide? Death seems like a steep price to pay for not allowing government intervention in your life. It's not like the government is killing everyone and they are running to save their lives.

The final scene with Realm, Shep, Derek and the new girl was very creepy. It was like an episode of the twilight zone. So was this the scenario if you were a difficult girl fighting re-programming?

James was a difficult boy, it doesn't sound like this was the method they used on him at all.

Speaking of interaction, it didn't make any sense to me why you would allow normal teenagers to interact with the Returners at that club. Except for a good plot device, that seemed contrary to their other rules. (hide spoiler)]

So i think he kind of just revorted back to his old nature.
