Okay, Greg, thanks, that's good of you. I've had enough of numbers in my working life:)

Just tell me whom to remind it!!!
I'll post the invitation and the discussion on monday the 25th.
And I'll tell you if I'm actually going away: today we are discussing with that friend of mine - for other engagements she has - to go the following week end. If so I can do it myself; if not I'll let you know!

I had noticed a different one a little bit earlier. Thanks for the heads up Diane. I'm resolving the situation now.

I was just going to send a note to one of you . There are several posts across a number of threads by this person. Thanks, Greg.

I've been busy deleting them all - well above the threshold to get blocked, I think.

Diane S ⛄ wrote: "Poems by Elvis on a new thread."I saw it on my GoodReads home page but when I clicked on it, it was gone. The poster must have deleted it themselves (something wrong with that sentence but you get the idea).
I have already sent a private message to a moderator but I think that now this member is exaggerating and I hope there is a moderator online:https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
-- hello :-) I have a short question.
Is it possible to look for buddy reads in this group?
I'm looking for avid readers who would be interested in reading a newly released contemporary fiction novel with me ... wondering which section is best for this request :-)
-- thank you for your kind support.

Yes. Here is the whole folder: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/group...
and here the discussion where you can ask who would like to join: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
Diane S ☔ wrote: "Why do we have so many new threads? Do we have a new moderator?"No, it must be individual members starting them.
Diane S ☔ wrote: "Are we allowed to do that? Always thought they had to be cleared with a moderator first."
I think anyone is allowed to create threads Diane, though when someone creates a thread that duplicates an existing one, we usually kill the new thread and merge the content. I'll take a look.

Diane S ☔ wrote: "Are we allowed to do that? Always thought they had to be cleared with a moderator first."No, you are thinking about Amber & Jean's group. As Greg said, we try to minimize the duplicate threads but other than that, members can create threads here.
Awesome, it was just so strange to see so many new threads at once in my feed. Thanks for clarifying.
Jean wrote: ""you are thinking about Amber & Jean's group" Just to say that's correct for our group :)"

--- hello (and feeling a bit ashamed)
it was mainly my fault.
I was not aware that a new thread needs to be confirmed by a moderator first - and chatted away, opening new threads. I am terribly sorry for that & have started to delete my threads.
-- appreciate the kind moderator replies that I have received :-)
Caecilia - I'm not a mod here, so wouldn't usually comment, but since you're feeling bad and I've seen this first, I'd like to put your mind at rest. Please DON'T WORRY!In "All About Books", this group which we are posting in at the moment, there is NO RULE about asking moderators if you can open a thread. You are perfectly free to do so. One of the moderators will guide you further if you need help. You can check the rules on the home page in most groups.
The confusion arose because Diane S (hi Diane!) is also in a group which I co-moderate, and where only moderators post threads, in consultation with the members. When Leslie (hi Leslie!) suggested this might be the case, I came in and confirmed it.
So I repeat, please don't feel bad!! You haven't done anything wrong and I'm pretty sure the mods here wouldn't want you to panic and "delete all your threads."
Caecilia, no need to worry! It takes a while to get the hang of things ;) Like Jean said (thanks for jumping in Jean!) you are free to create threads, just check whether they might already be existing or whether there's a thread already that would work for it, so we can avoid duplicate threads and the danger of getting lost in our little jungle of threads (I do on occasion ;))If in doubt: just come here and ask.

Jean ~ such kind words. thank you! I really appreciate your long reply and sharing the background.
-- I have deleted my threads as I wanted to help keeping the place clean & nice :-)
Yes, please don't feel bad. Totally my fault, it is just that for several days I wasn't getting my notifications and than yesterday received a slew of them with threads I didn't recognize. Just thought I must have missed something that came before. So I am sorry I caused so much confusion. I am very glad you have joined this group, Caecilia and love your enthusiasm.
Jenny wrote: "Caecilia, no need to worry! It takes a while to get the hang of things ;) Like Jean said (thanks for jumping in Jean!) you are free to create threads, just check whether they might already be exist...":-) hello Jenny ~
you are all so kind. thank you so much.
also, for explaining the rules once more.
so, in the future I will just be more careful to first check if my topic wouldn't match an already existing thread before opening a new one. -- got it! ;-)
I think we haven't realized it was the last week end of June this one. At least I did!
I'm afraid it's a bit too late to start it now. We'll see if to postpone it till next week end or do it for July directly!
Sorry for the mistake

We've been a bit pre-occupied in the Uk with a little matter of a referendum and its consequences! Who said to their enemies.... "May you live in interesting times? "
It's happening right here in the UK...
June did fly by quickly!Tweedledum, that certainly was an interesting vote. Interesting times, indeed.
We think the best thing will be to skip directly to the end of July.
Please remind me of it though!!!

Laura, or any Mod, a reminder to please send out invites for the end of July Readathon event, which should be next weekend. (You missed this weekend just gone which was technically the last in July. But next weekend should be okay.)
Moderators, can someone please attend to the self promotion messages by Joshua in the This Day in Literary History thread and the What Have You Just Read thread. Thanks.
