We have usually done it the last weekend of the month. This year the 31st jan is a Saturday so shall we say the 24th/25th weekend?

Hi Sandy, it's run quarterly, so the next one will take place in May/June, with the sign ups in April.
I missed this one too Sandy, though I'm a bit overwhelmed with committed reads right now; so I guess in some ways, it's a good thing. But I'm going to make a note for myself too :)
I forgot to respond to the message about the January Readathon. It really would like to participate. I thought I still had time to respond for some reasonAny way I will put my totals here in case you want to add them.
Friday - 90 pages
Saturday -224 pages
Rhonda, you can still join. Post your details on the main thread found here https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
How Information Matters: Networks and Public Policy Innovation has been linked to Kathleen Hale, the author of Orlando the Marmalade Cat: A Seaside Holiday and subsequent books about Orlando the Marmalade Cat. How Information Matters: Networks and Public Policy Innovation was published in 2011 by Gorgetown university and given that Hale died in 2000 at age 101 and was British, I doubt very much that this is her book.
Can someone please help?
B the BookAddict wrote: "How Information Matters: Networks and Public Policy Innovation has been linked to Kathleen Hale, the author of [book:Orlando the Marmalade Cat: A Seaside Holiday|862..."I will see what I can do. It was written by a different person named Kathleen Hale so I'm not sure of the procedure for separating them.
In the future, this type of request would be better in the "librarians to the rescue" thread:

Hopefully not too early in the morning! Gotta give us in the New World a chance to put in our Sunday totals.
Leslie wrote: "B the BookAddict wrote: "How Information Matters: Networks and Public Policy Innovation has been linked to Kathleen Hale, the author of [book:Orlando the Marmalade C..."Oh yes, I'd forgotten that thread. Thanks for the reminder:)

I don't know if this is the place to address it, but I had a post for 2015 reads (I think the title was "Terri's 2015 reads") and now I can't find it anywhere. Any idea what happened? If that one can't be found, is it too late to start a new one?
Hi Terri
I can't imagine the thread would have been deliberately deleted so it may have been a goodreads glitch (we've had a few).
I found your challenge thread https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

If you want to start a new one, feel free. You can start them at any point throughout the year
Heather, thank you so much for your prompt response. We have the best mods on GR!
No problem! I'm still learning the moderator ropes but enjoying it
Just wondering... I see we've decided to nominate early for our June fiction read, so that we all have enough time to get hold of the winning book. Will we be doing the same with our non-fiction and classic reads for June?
Pink wrote: "Just wondering... I see we've decided to nominate early for our June fiction read, so that we all have enough time to get hold of the winning book. My gut reaction is that they are less difficult to get so the problem is less severe, plus the classic reads are for 2-month periods instead of the single month for Group Fiction.
Apart from last time which was late, non-fiction usually happends at the end of the month prior, well actually prior to the month prior ;), so you have a month to get a hold of the book. Darn it, did I articulate that semi understandably? lol. So end of the month we will be choosing books for June.
Is a general group post done for the Recommendation Swap? This is second month in a row that I haven't seen any notification and have missed the thread and so missed participating. I love Reco Swap and am dismayed that I never see the first post. :(
B the BookAddict wrote: "Is a general group post done for the Recommendation Swap? I did a reminder, but it's easy to miss with all the different discussion threads. I'll try to make sure it's well-advertised next time. Which will be July, by the way, ready for the swap to take place in August.

Sandy wrote: "I just noticed that I am unable to subscribe for notifications of posts to the Group Announcements thread. Does anyone know if this is a temporary Goodreads glitch or something that can be correcte..."You can't follow a closed thread. The Group announcements thread is reclosed once the post is made which means you can't follow it.
Shirley maybe adding a new post to the What Is It thread for the rec swap would help people stay up to date on the new ones.

amber wrote: "Shirley maybe adding a new post to the What Is It thread for the rec swap would help people stay up to date on the new ones."Yes, we could try that.
It's now been added as post 39 on General Information. The multiple postings are irritating me no end. Also Book chat.
Emma wrote: "Are the members of this group allowed to add books because if we are I would love to!"Hi Emma, welcome! We have a system of voting for books we read together as a group - see our group reads section of the message board. We also have readalongs, or "buddy reads" and you can join in with these too!
Emma wrote: "I just joined the group and im a little confused about what to do"Mostly we chat (a lot!). Visit any of the discussion threads and jump in! For example, you can tell us what you are currently reading and whether you are liking it:

That's my question too. Haven't had a message and can't see anything on the group page but hoping its on!
Tweedledum wrote: "That's my question too. Haven't had a message and can't see anything on the group page but hoping its on!"No message or invite here either but the thread is open:

Oh dear, I'm the one who's supposed to send out the reminder, but I was under the impression I was supposed to send it out on this Thursday the day before the readathon starts. Does it usually go out earlier? Let me confer with the experts!
Greg, I started the Readathon here on AAB. I think you'll find I normally sent the Event (via Laura) about 10 days prior to the Readathon. Once the Event has been initiated, Goodreads automatically sends out a reminder.

I'm interested in theory, but I'm afraid that often doesn't come into practice. It's nice to know that they're there though for when I do get myself organised!
