Also, wondering: I tried to delete this myself as it only has two adds on it and no ratings or reviews, but it will only allow super librarians to do this. I thought that as long as a record had under 5 adds I would be able to do it with regular librarian status. Am I incorrect?

689 done690, we can't change the books on your shelves and this not an issue for this thread. This may be helpful http://www.goodreads.com/help#remove_... or use the button for switching editions. And copying links from a message as you did in message 699 doesn't work, those links go now to different books.
691 If is indeed not published separate it should be merged into an edition containing that story.

697 The edition needed to be combined with at least one other edition when merging, so the shelving will be transferred to the edition that stays. I merged this one.

http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/16...I found this and fixed the author's name, thinking I'd combine it with the actual book (then delete it, since it doesn't have an ISBN and looks to be a placeholder) - then realized that someone added this book mixing up two of the titles in the series (Born at Midnight & Whispers at Moonrise). I think judging by one of the reviews, I think this is supposed to be Whispers at Moonrise, so it should be combined with that book (for the reviews), but should also be deleted.

The first one and third one have been merged. The second one is not combined with any other editions, and has a review. With what should it be merged?

I have no idea what happened. I posted a link for the short story Transition which was merged with the anthology Teeth. And the link still has that title (/book/show/18106534-transition), but it gets rerouted somehow. And now I can't find that edition. Clueless...

That sometimes happens with deletions, but it SHOULD reroute to the book it was merged into.

I don't see any other 1921 editions and, considering it was originally published in 1911, there is no reason not to think a later edition was published then.

Goodreads policy is to keep all published covers. The author can manually set which edition is the default, although it looks like the desired edition already is the default.

For future reference, it's helpful if you separate out the two editions needing merging.
