Combine authors

I need training, methinks.

A Zola Dictionary: the Characters of the Rougon-Macquart Novels of Emile Zola;

A Zola Dictionary; The Characters of the Rougon-Macquart Novels of Emile Zola; With a Biographical and Criticial Introduction, Synopses of the Plots

need to be combined. The 2nd listing has the author without periods. If I add the first author to this edition, and then remove the author without periods, I can combine them. What happens to the 2nd author when I do that? Is this the proper method?

The method to add one author and remove the incorrect one works, but it leaves an empty profile. Merging the authors is cleaner.

Edit the author without the periods and add the periods to match the correct author name. You will be prompted to choose a profile to keep, click the correct one and they will merge.

Then you can combine the books from there.
