Rachael (rachsramblings) | 32 comments I LOVE Michael Phillips. His history is great. Laurainne Snellings books Red River of the North, Return to a Red a River, and her several series on the town of Blessing are great historical fiction. My favorite Civil War Trilogy fiction is Refiner's Fire series. They are great reads. I think two won Christy awards. All of the Thoenes are great, but I particularly like the Zion Chronicles and Zion Covenant series. The Russians by Michael Phillips and Judith Pella are great historical novels as well. Not sure if they are still in print. Just a few of my favorites.

Check out Angela Ewell Hunts books, she has several historical fiction series that are severely incredible: The Theyn Chronicles, The Keepers of the Ring. They're so well researched and well written. Also I loved the series Refiner's Fire by Lynn Austin. You won't be disappointed with any of them. Lynn Austin's required a box full of Kleenex. Sandy Snavely - www.sandysnavley.net

Angela E. Hunt's book Magdalene is well worth your time. Also her series Dreamers - a 3 volume series on Joseph is amazing. Enjoy, be refreshed and be inspired. www.sandysnavely.net

Bridal Veil was the first book of the series that I read and remains one of my favs. Wildflower, Liberty, and Amana are two other favorites. Natalie wrote: "I'm Natalie. AnnaLee Conti | 12 comments I love historical fiction too. I recently read "Love Finds You in Glacier Bay, Alaska." I grew up in Alaska and lived 10 years in Juneau. That book felt like a family reunion. I too write Christian historical fiction set in Alaska. The second in my Alaskan Waters series, "A Star to Steer By," is now at the publishers, expected to be released in September, The first book, "Till the Storm Passes By," came out last spring. Available in all e-readers and trade paperback.

Kimberly Anstaett | 3 comments Hello Everyone, I am Kim from MO. I am looking forward to reading along with everyone in this group and discussing what we read. I have about 1001 books I would like to read on my list in a variety of genres but my favorite genre is Christian Historical fiction! Who is your #1 favorite Christian Historical Fiction Author and or your #1 favorite story you have ever read?

message 69: by Jack (new)

Jack Cavanaugh (novelistjack) | 28 comments Ahem... A little biased here, but have you tried my books? You might also try some of my friends... Angela Elwell Hunt, the Thoenes, and Lisa Bergren. Oh yeah, James Scott Bell and Tracie Peterson have teamed up for some, and Tracie has a whole host of her own. Highly recommended all.

Debi Walter (debigraywalter) | 8 comments I agree--the Thoenes are excellent. I have also written an historical fiction based on the life of my grandmother in Oklahoma Territory in 1904. I discovered her story after she died and was filled with regret that I didn't know her more. My Mom and I worked together on the research that took 12 years to complete. It was published in Sept. 2012 titled, Through The Eyes Of Grace, by Debi Gray Walter. (Debigraywalter.com) So grateful my Mom was able to read it before her death in Dec. 2012!

John Jr. | 62 comments My name is John Cunningham Jr. I've been a Christian for over forty years, since I was seventeen years old. I grew up in Mobile, AL and taught high school history in the New Orleans area. I am also a professional writer. For much of my writing career, I've written articles for Christian magazines, though some of my work has also been published in secular publications. I am passionate about history and historical fiction, so I'm really excited to find this group. I have two e-books on Amazon at the moment, Civil War novels with a naval setting instead of an army one--VENGEANCE & BETRAYAL is the first book, and RIVER RUCKUS, BLOODY BAY the second one. I look forward to the fellowship on this site. Thank you, everyone, for taking me in!
