Problems with adding/removing e-book downloads

I was the one who made the free e-book with old short stories of Peter Watts with his permission. However, a publisher is now re-releasing these short stories, so Peter now asked me to remove the files from Goodreads.

The book and variations are available all over the Internet (turns out I have got it in my collection) because it is described as a "creative commons-licensed collection".
Note that the book record itself should not be altered. The 'proper' edition will probably be a completely new book because of the absence of the creative commons reference unless the new book has an identical list of stories in which case we could make it an alternate cover edition. We shall wait and see.
Yes, it is creative commons-licensed, as it is a compilation of stories Watts released as CC-licensed PDFs on his website. And they're still there - he's just asked me to remove it from major sites like Goodreads for now, as a courtesy, while the book is being released. And while it being under CC license means he can't *tell* me to remove it, I'm not an asshole not to do it when he asked nicely, and the reason I made the compilation in the first place was the fact that there wasn't one around. Also, the story list is not completely identical, since the new book omits some of the stories. The new edition is here:

The list of stories in my collection is actually identical to the Polish translation "Odtrutka na optymizm", which includes all of Watts's stories to date:

The only difference is the author's introduction, so I combined the two.
Looks good. I don't think there is a way to stop someone from re-uploading the ebook but I've added a librarians note asking people not to do that.

Actually, librarians cannot do that any longer. We took the ability away a couple months ago due to abuse. https://www.goodreads.com/help/show/3...

It might be a good idea to update librarian help pages then, it still being mentioned in these made me think it's just a temporary bug.
The librarian manual still has:"upload ebook with format
Here you can select to upload an ebook of specific format. Ebooks should only be uploaded if it is legal to do so. "

removed (I was the one who added them).
