Scarlett No. I personally thought it was beautiful written and a lovely read. It was so sad but such a fast read. I personally really loved this book.

Mia This is definitely one of those books that I literally could not and did not want to put down! The moment I began reading, I was hooked. The overall plot was so amazing, and the ending was just heartbreaking. Also, as Scarlett said, the book was a pretty fast read for me. I hope whoever reads this rethinks their actions and words towards other people because bullying hurts and it can be very tragic.

amanda yes! I hade big problems rating it, but i ended up at 5 stars

Annemarie Donahue I think I know what you mean. This book was compelling and really had to put down. But having said that, it was also very easy to read and the language was not challenging or evocative. The situations were evocative, but not the language in and of itself.
I think I ended up giving it 5 stars, and it should keep the five, but as much as I loved it, I wouldn't bring it into my class as the language doesn't present a challenge to my students. Good summer reading!

Scott Not at all, an easy 4 stars for me.

Erin I personally had a hard time reading it. I just didn't like how he ran all over town with the tapes going to every place. I found the book to drag, I so couldn't wait to read it and when I finally did I couldn't wait for it to be over with. It was a sad book but it dragged for me, I also didn't rate it

Leah The writing was simple, but it was beautiful. I had the hardest time rating it, but mostly because of Hannah. I understand that she was going through a lot, but she really got on my nerves on occasion. Not all the time, but on occasion. Like the fact that she gave Clay the tapes in the first place. It caused him more pain than was deserved. Much more pain.

matt h It's funny that you asked this question. I'd say yes, it was hard to give it a rating. It was a good story, good characters, well written and easy to read. It had all the makings of a solid four stars.

However, I felt that the author missed an opportunity for real authenticity and greater emotional impact by making the narrator's interaction with Hannah to be mostly positive. (view spoiler) And yeah, for that I took a star.

Exactly. It was too "perfect" that that's how it turned out for him.

Lily no not really. i thought it was amazing and i thought it was really well written. gave it 5 stars. i even cried reading this.

Yeah. I wanted to give it a single star.

Erica It's one of those books you can't say you liked, but you know it was good.

❁ Noor Yes I did..

Mollie I didn't want it to be an easy read. I also didn't want to be finished so quickly. It had the potential to be so much more and I wanted that for the characters and the author. I was frustrated that I had to settle with reading between the lines a lot. Great story, but I wanted to feel more and know everything.
