I'm still kinda confused about the Everhart's Disease (is this even correct?). I think I need further explanation, scientifically, about it. What caused the disease to be so deadly to most children and why only few survived, and what do they have that made them survived? Those abilities? How did they attain it?

Also curious about Zu's silence! I'm very much interested in the lives of children at other camps aside from Thurmond so I can compare the torture, but I think in Thurmond it's worse! They shut children with guns shoot in their mouths! How brutal!

I KNOW! FROM THE START I had a feeling for that! Although I was just truly disappointed with how he turned out in the end. It was kinda predictable for him to control the Project Jamboree.

It's so sad!!!! But it's the right thing to do. Too bad Ruby can't control that part of her power. or maybe she can, Clancy just told her otherwise because he was insecure or want to feel superior or Ruby.

This book was slow pace. I would have rated it only 3 stars. The last few chapters were the reason for another star.

That's how I felt. It was a 3 star story, but a 5star ending. I was confused about her erasing her parents memories, cause we weren't told that that is what happened til right at the end. It was annoying. I have a hardback finished copy and mine was like that too.

I just got to chapter 16. A few things: (view spoiler)[ I just wanted to double check…ruby erased her parents memory right? I was assuming that since it wasn't clearly stated but based on her abilities and how she keeps talking about them, I just assumed. And secondly, I'm glad she decided not to stay with the League. I knew there was something off about them even though Cate seemed decent. I'm just wondering why Rob killed those kids. There's definitely something up there. (hide spoiler)]

I just finished today. I liked it, but like you said, I was expecting more from it as well. The premise was very interesting, but I felt like it was too detail driven as opposed to dialect and character driven. For me, it felt like there wasn't a lot of character development. The only one I truly saw a lot of character development for was Chubs, but that's just me. I'm curious to read the next one just to see what happens.
