I am ready for our inaugural group read whenever I have enough people in my group. This will probably end up being early next year instead of next month. We will see how fast people join.

Margaret Sharp (margaretlynettesharp) | 1 comments I have taken the liberty of nominating one of my titles. It is not a religious work, but it is free from bad language or explicit sex. I would be happy for you to read the reviews of this and any of my other collections of vignettes to establish my credibility and that of my titles.
Thanks.Encore Encore by Margaret Lynette Sharp

Authors are free to nominate their own books or recent favorites that would qualify in this genre. Anyone with more than one comment or someone asks to be a moderator and follows the rules can also help. Moderator(s) can also feel free to nominate until there are more members.

I'm also thinking about doing an additional group read once we have more members and nominations for this one.

Books should be the first in a series unless we;re further in and have already read the first one. Novellas are also included as long as they follow the rules. You can "second" a nomination. I will start with one nomination a person and see how many more members and options we get. I would prefer there to be at least a few months between the books in a series. This is to make sure we don't read to books by the same author a month apart.

FYI: Some classics might even qualify as long as they fit the rules.

message 13: by Shannah (new)

Shannah Mauney (sdmauney14) It's a Christian historical romance, I would say.

The nominations will be closing next Saturday. I will try to announce the winners by Labor Day. It should be easier since I've not set up with Random.org. This means I will pick the book. If you don't get to nominate this month, no worries. I plan to start a new thread sometime on September first for the October-November main group read. I don't know exactly when I will do a thread for the second additional group read since I am still trying to close the nominations for the first one.

I will try to add the discussion thread once I have some idea of what the book is going to be,. Feel free to join in if you remember enough about the book or your opinion of it.

Still planning to close these nominations on Saturday. This is a good amount for the first time. I plan to start the nomination thread for the next main group read sometime after I pick the winner of this one. I will attempt to keep a list of which authors are ineligible after we have done a few group reads.

I am choosing The Shunning by Beverly Lewis for next month's main group read since it's the only title I've read.
