Kandice | 4387 comments I think it would make two movies perfectly. Show the story in a linear fashion beginning when they are children. Part two can pick up when they are adults and Mike calls them back. Most people would already know there are two parts to the story, and those that don't would have a nice surprise.

Todd (toddwn) Apparently Will Poulter has been cast as Pennywise! He's far too young to play him. Nothing can beat the original clown. Although I do look forward to more horror.

Steve Parcell | 176 comments I think the original Tim Curry Pennywise fitted perfectly in to the TV mini series as it was a little over the top. Casting Poulter may give it that 2015 feel we want to see.
The original was good but a two part film series modernised for this era would be cool. Poulter could be awful but I have seen enough in his previous roles to suggest he could pull it off and be nastier than Curry.
The original was also very naff in terms of special effects so a modern raw version without JohnBoy from the Waltons would be pretty cool!

I think Tim Burton would make it too comical. It HAS to be dark and tense.

Ha ha. I'm not a fan of John Boy, either!

How about Ozzy? He's pretty freaky and messed up, with all due respect, of course.

Kandice | 4387 comments A nice bonus to having two complete movies is that, with the exception of Pennywise, you would have two completely different casts. Teens playing pre-teens in the first installment and then adults in the second.

Aneela Agree that Will Poulter seems too young to play Pennywise - but not sure if that's even going to happen now anway as this project seems dead.

They could get a new director, new script - basically starting fresh, and could still keep Poulter. Who knows anymore. But my enthusiasm for a different version has plummeted due to no Fukunaga.

This would be the best idea, I think.

Thomas I couldn't care less for any film remake.
