The original was good but a two part film series modernised for this era would be cool. Poulter could be awful but I have seen enough in his previous roles to suggest he could pull it off and be nastier than Curry.
The original was also very naff in terms of special effects so a modern raw version without JohnBoy from the Waltons would be pretty cool!

I think Tim Burton would make it too comical. It HAS to be dark and tense.

They could get a new director, new script - basically starting fresh, and could still keep Poulter. Who knows anymore. But my enthusiasm for a different version has plummeted due to no Fukunaga.
