If remade into another movie, heaven forbid, who do you think would play Scarlett O'Hara

Personally, I think that the movie could never be redone, and Vivien Leigh will always be Scarlett, but if I had to pick an actress from today I'd pick either, Jessica Chastain, Jennifer Lawrence, or Anne Hathaway. By the way, I think that Anne would make a great Melanie Wilkes.

I'd probably go with Scarlett Johansson ( if you dye her hair dark) or Jennifer Lawrence. They're both great actress and very good when it comes to tough characters.

Kate Winslet would make a nice Scarlett; Emmy Rossum would make an EXCELLENT Melanie :)

Olivia Wilde has the green eyes and is a decent actress to boot.
We played that game for real a decade or so back. And it was an abyssmal failure. I personally thought at that time Susan Lucci while too old was the only one who could attempt it. Don't remember who did. I watched a few minutes of it. It was awful.
I hope this is NEVER remade. It's a classic. A remake would ruin it. Just my opinion :)
It would have to be someone who could not only be tough and cold but also vulnerable and awkward. Scarlett didn't know what she was doing half the time and was making it up as she went along. That's why we could relate to her. So it couldn't be someone uber-tough like Angelina Jolie. Maybe Rachael MacAdams. Maybe Amanda Seyfried?
