Chris | 1 comments I was wondering if a structure for a book discussion would be helpful. I would like to have a schedule that guides us so we can read a few chapters at a time and then have discussion about the book every couple of weeks. For example, it would be nice to talk about Active Hope more in-depth before moving onto another title in my opinion.

We could just have discussions via posts on the discussion board. I would prefer discussion by phone or video conference. One option would be to use freeconferencecall.com. Another option would be to use skype. If people are interested in this as a possibility, I would be happy to help arrange the logistics.

Please let me know what you think.

Take care,
Chris

Heather Mann (heatherlynmann) Thanks, Chris for thinking creatively and sharing your ideas. Yes, let's schedule our reading in segments and talk about each section as we go--every couple of weeks. That should make reading together even more fun. I agree!

I continue to welcome comments and ideas on Joanna Macy's Active Hope. I haven't heard from others that they'd like to slow the process and we're reading at a rate of 4-6 books a year. So, I think--unless others would like more time--we will move on to our next read: Spiritual Ecology.

But, I think it is great that you suggest conference calls for group discussions. That could be a lot of fun to get to know each other better and put personalities to written posts. Thanks too for generously offering to set this up!

Here's a question for everyone: would others like to participate if Chris got a teleconference organized?

Thanks again for your creative ideas and feedback, Chris. Happy reading--H
