Matched
question
Is it worth reading the 3rd book?

So I read Matched and Crossed in the Matched trilogy. I liked the first book I guess but the characters kind of annoyed me. Like Cassia was always asking for trouble and one page she would be making out with Xander and the next page she would run off to Ky. I didn't get how Cassia could choose a creepy guy who just writes instead of an awesome guy like Xander! I mean really? And the 2nd book was really bad because all that happened was Cassia thinking about Ky and trying to find him, there was no real story behind it. So I was debating whether I should read the 3rd book in the series. Is it any better than the 2nd book?

I'm dealing with the same problem.
I don't know whether to read it or not, but I think I soon will.
I don't like leaving a trilogy unfinished, knowing that the story I started isn't over. It's like starting to cook a cake and deciding to leave it in the middle of the preparation.

Reached took me an entire MONTH to read. That`s extremely uncommon. This book was very slow and I don`t like where the story was taken after Matched, but the last many chapters of this book made up for it for the most part. I was smiling so much at the end and I had chills and everything. Just get through the entire book and you will understand what I`m talking about. The ending tied up all the loose ends and I was extremely proud of finishing this book, but the process wasn`t always fun considering I wanted to read another book very badly at the time. But if you have nothing at the top of your list to read, this one will do the trick. You have to have a lot of patience and be able to read through unneeded details and poetry that I was over with by the end, to finish this book in a reasonable amount of time. But those last few lines... I`m emotional just thinking about it. But I do wish there was more action in the romance. Usually with love triangles, one of them goes off with their life and leaves the other two for their marriage and what not, so this ending with the characters was absolutely heartwarming and emotional for me. I read the first two in a week, so I became very attached to every character. A few sad deaths, but I was over them quickly. Soooo, it depends on how quickly you can read a slow paced book and if you`re willing to read this at the time. If not, I`d say to leave it on the shelf but do not forget about it to go back and read it later.
you should read it! it's long yes boring at times yes but worth it
In my opinion it is totally NOT worth reading the third book. I did, though, becauee I wanted to finish the trilogy but I was really disappointed...
No, she ends up with Ky unfortunately the end. I don't feel like writing an essay on why it should have been Xander but. Whatever. And don't argue with me. You'll lose. Especially since i'm not in the mood.
Its not the best of the books but if I start a series I have to finish...Its a OK Book...Read, at least its better than ALLEGIANT and MOCKINJAY
Totally read the third one. it was the best of all and narrarated by all three Cassia Ky and Xander. Its amazing
It defiantly is worth it. Out of the 3, reached was the best
It's definitely worse than the second book. Everything is oh so convenient and none of the questions posed in Matched are answered. Instead, a whole new unconnected plot point is introduced.
If you want to know how it ends I would recommend just reading a detailed synopsis.

I agree with all of you, but I read the final book. In my opinion, it brings all the loose ends together. I am not a fan of sci-fi books at all, but I could not leave it unfinished. I think you will be happy to find out how everything comes together.
i think that it's the same issue that you find with a lot of trilogies. in this instance, Matched was GREAT and i think that i had high hopes. i read Crossed and i felt like it was flat - and it was kind of annoying. i kept wanting to skip ahead. When Reached came out though, i went back to read both books 1 and 2, and i found that there must have been a few things that i missed since i really enjoyed it on round 2, meaning that i HAD to read Reached for the conclusion.
what i can say about Reached is that it had a sense of Mockinjay in it. i found a lot of similarities there and not to say that it was a bad thing, i just kept comparing them. i feel like if you're willing to give it a try though, you should read the series all the way through since there are a few interesting story lines that come up in book 3 that you dont expect. you meet some new characters and are re-introduced to a few that really make the story better. there are also a few story lines that were hinted at in book 1 that comes to play out in book 3 which is nice too.
