Hooray indeed!It was removed yesterday. I reposted to report that, but who has time to go through posts all day long just to see what's happening out there? :)
How do you guys feel about when people share the PDF you send them?

It's also illegal.

Yes, FB took down the page. I posted the news yesterday under the thread heading "The end of the pirates," I believe.
May I ask, how did you find out about it at first? I'm curious, because I want to know how I can keep an eye on the web for my own books :) Don't want them pirated either, so I'd like to know how you scan it.

Another GR member suggested using muso.com, which apparently is a watchdog site that alerts you if your work is being pirated. I haven't checked it yet, but I plan to.
On the whole PDF thing I'm not sure how to respond. Yes, it is stealing, but how are you going to stop a reader from sending a file to their friend? It's the same as loaning someone a cd and then they play/download it on their computer. If they are selling it and making more money than I am, that's a different story. But if they're giving away free copies to someone who probably wouldn't buy it anyway and might actually read it now.... I don't know.

How is that any different from their giving away even a single copy? I would rather have the decision to give them away left up to me. But maybe you're thinking of it as advertising, which I understand...up to a point.
It's my first novel, so I've decided to look at it as a compliment and a chance to gain new readers.

If there was a button I could press that kept people from giving away my work to even one other person I might press it, but there isn't. People sharing artist's work is a problem that exists across the board of creative mediums. Everyone wants things for free. I can either choose to be mad about it or look at it as a chance to solidify my name, brand and possibly make new fans. It doesn't mean I'm happy about it, but I'm not going to let something I can't control ruin my desire to write and publish. I have enough problems I can do something about. :)
As a reviewer I can tell authors that when I finish a pdf of your book, it gets deleted when the book review is complete and I no longer need it for reference. If I do keep it longer it is just to remind me of plot or characters before I go to read and review the next book. Then it is deleted. I would never share it.

Unbelievable.
My books aren't on that site, but this nonresponse makes me very angry. If anyone knows how to force them to do something, please post and take action.
