Pirating revisited

It was removed yesterday. I reposted to report that, but who has time to go through posts all day long just to see what's happening out there? :)

That's copyright infringement and is actionable. I'd be pretty furious and I'd follow up. Did that happen to you? Do you know the person?

I'd be furious too. If it was someone who requested it for a Read and Review, that's against the rules, and I'd report them to the group mod.
It's also illegal.

I just tried to access the link to see what was going on. I got a message that the page was unavailable and may have been removed. So something worked?

Carolyn Bennett (I don't know her) posted it on the Facebook site Authors and Book Lovers Discussion Group, and I took it from there because I didn't see anything about it in my Goodreads groups. Another GR member suggested using muso.com, which apparently is a watchdog site that alerts you if your work is being pirated. I haven't checked it yet, but I plan to.

It's the principle of the thing. Would you be happy if someone gave away thousands of copies of your work? How is that any different from their giving away even a single copy? I would rather have the decision to give them away left up to me. But maybe you're thinking of it as advertising, which I understand...up to a point.

I totally get the principle of the thing. If there was a button I could press that kept people from giving away my work to even one other person I might press it, but there isn't. People sharing artist's work is a problem that exists across the board of creative mediums. Everyone wants things for free. I can either choose to be mad about it or look at it as a chance to solidify my name, brand and possibly make new fans. It doesn't mean I'm happy about it, but I'm not going to let something I can't control ruin my desire to write and publish. I have enough problems I can do something about. :)

Unbelievable.
My books aren't on that site, but this nonresponse makes me very angry. If anyone knows how to force them to do something, please post and take action.
