C.M.J. Wallace | 193 comments I just got a notice that Facebook did not remove the page. Here's their response: "Thank you for taking the time to report something that you feel may violate our Community Standards. Reports like yours are an important part of making Facebook a safe and welcoming environment. We reviewed the page you reported for containing theft or vandalism and found it doesn't violate our community standard on theft or vandalism."

Unbelievable.

My books aren't on that site, but this nonresponse makes me very angry. If anyone knows how to force them to do something, please post and take action.

The pirating site's address: https://www.facebook.com/ReadOnlineSt...

Russell Brooks (russellbrooks) I believe I know which site you are referring to. It popped up a few times in my newsfeed. If ever any of my books show up there, I already have a TAKEDOWN NOTICE prepared and ready to send to them as I have done with other sites.

Loretta (lorettalivingstone) | 134 comments WHATTTTTTTTT? It's piracy! How is that not theft? I saw your post and took a look. The page is full of authors complaining that their books have been pirated! Unbelievably Fb banned a link I put on there from someone else, which led to a webpage about a film on athletics, as they decided it had malware on it! It doesn't! Yet they let this run! I also reported it, as did some of my author friends. It's been reported by loads of people. No, they don't have my books (probably don't want them) but this is appalling! Keep reporting them, people! Surely Fb will get the message - eventually! A lotof people have reported the link to google so maybe that will have the desired effect.

Russell Brooks (russellbrooks) I'll keep reporting this site, but under the category of SPAM/OFFENSIVE content.

Becky McGraw (becky_mcgraw) | 36 comments I signed up with muso.com yesterday, and it seems to be pretty amazing. It's not that expensive either. I was recommended there by another author, and signed up for the free trial, then bought a subscription. The takedown notices are automated, and it identifies a lot more than I could catch manually like I had been doing. I think it's going to save me a lot of time and headaches.

Thanks for the info, Becky. I'll look into that.

Sorry. I keep forgetting to include the link to the pirating site: https://www.facebook.com/ReadOnlineSt...

I'll have a look too. I guess I'm lucky. Pirates don't seem to want poetry, lol! I cannot understand why theft doesn't violate Facebooks values. Piracy is illegal, so how can they justify a page which operates outside the law? I hope they send me an email. I'm just in the mood for a very pithy reply! My husband could see steam rising today, lol!

Cate's Book Nut Hut (catesbooknuthut) Not much use, but maybe they are paying FB to promote their page. If this is the case, of course FB will not remove it. I'm going to keep reporting the page and, hopefully, FB will get the message.

Loretta, everyone needs a little poetry in their lives.

Aw, bless you Cate. But in this instance I'm quite glad that someone didn't want it, lol!

Loretta (lorettalivingstone) | 134 comments Goes to show, if enough people work together things are achieved. The page and all posts with it in have been removed. Even private messages.
