I'll go for difficult (9-13 books) but real difficulty for me would have been if you'd set pages for the month instead of # of books. :P
I'll list them as I go.
Ok I am on my first book it's Supernatural Freak, while its not pre say a post apocalyptic story it is Young Adult and I was asked to read it. * completed 8-12 (YA Safe)
Also two books that I will be reading in the Zombies group book (s) of the month are:
Jordan's Brains: A Zombie Evolution completed 8-15 (YA safe)
Also I have a buddy read scheduled for another Zombies Apocalypse book called Voyage of the Dead
Completed 8-19 (older YA safe)
The Series Bubba the Monster Hunter by John G. Hartness has become a new favorite of mine in the urban fantasy, paranormal investigation genres. They all have been YA safe (no sex or strong violence) but they do have some bar scenes and battling of course. so I will say older young adults.
I choose to add these to this list because Bubba works with his best friend Skeeter in the investigations, or rather Bubba is the bronze and Skeeter is the brains :)
I have read four of the series so far this month
they are

and

and

I choose

The Bright Light I chose this because it was Young adult, Dystopian, Action, and Science Fiction. The Characters are a group of orphaned boys who form a brotherhood. I really recommend this book. (YA safe)
Completed 8-31
Challenge completed
Ok that is it I am done. Nine Books read AND reviewed here on goodreads within the month of August!

My TBR for the month contains eleven books. One of which I have already completed. The book I finished was The Last Olympian by Rick Riordan. The others are as follows:
The Enemy - Charlie Higson
The DUFF – Kody Kepinger
The Program – Suzanne Young
Scarlet – Marissa Meyer
Stung – Bethany Wiggins
Article 5 – Kristen Simmons
Reboot – Amy Tintera
Shadows – Ilsa Bick
Light – Micheal Grant
Which means I have one contemporary, eight dystopian/apocalypse, and two paranormal/mythology.

1-4 5-8 & 9-13
What are those for?"
I'm assuming since there are 13 individual challenges that, depending on how many challenges (hence books read) you complete, that will determine your level of achievement.
Is that correct Amy Sue?
I'm in, but I may be lucky to complete the easy challenge. My first read will be for #11 "Be an Angel Day," and I'm reading Rapture (also one of our group R&Rs).
Going to attempt the difficult level but will probably fail at that - good luck to me for my first challenge :D

Great list Anna! You can do it!

Since today is August 4, and I need to plead forgiveness for being gone so long, I plan to go for the difficult level and begin with August 4th--International Forgiveness Day and read Unwholly by Neal Schusterman

Yeas you are correct. It is 13 individual challenges and you can do as many as you like, but I say that you can do it however you want to. I have no qualms with any way you decide to do it as long as you read the amount of books.

Challenge Levels:
1-4 books – Easy
5-8 books – Medium
9-13 books – Difficult
(You can use books you are reading for another challenge as well)
You can pick and post your books now or post as you go, but do not start reading until August 1! Don't forget to tell what level you are aiming for!
You may choose books based on how you interpret the prompts below, they only have to make sense to you.
1. August is Admit You're Happy Month: Read a book with a character that makes you happy or by an author who always makes you happy with their books.
2. August is Romance Awareness Month: Read a book with any kind of romance in it. It doesn't have to be a romance book, but it should have some sort of a love story in it.
3. August is Water Quality Month: Read a book that has to do with water. It either takes place near a body of water, someone may swim or it may have water on the cover.
4. August is National Picnic Month: Read a book that you think would be great for sunning yourself while relaxing at a picnic.
5. The 3rd week in August is Friendship Week: Read a book with a group of friends in it OR read a book a friend recommended for you OR read a book WITH a friend.
6. August 4th is International Forgiveness Day: Read a book that you didn't get around to last month or read a book where a character forgives another character.
7. August 5th is Sisters Day: Read a book with sisters in it or read a book with a character you wish was your sister.
8. August 8th is Sneak Some Zucchini onto Your Neighbor's Porch Day: (LOL I had to use this one.) Read a book that has a practical joke in it or read a book in the humor genre.
9. August 9th is Book Lover's Day: Either read a book someone else recommended for you, that people have been talking about or that has a character that is a bookworm or a librarian.
10. August 17th is National Thriftshop Day: Read a book you got at a thrift shop, for a discount or for free and haven't gotten around to reading yet.
11. August 22nd is Be an Angel Day: Read a book with a character that is an Angel or someone who is Angelic in nature.
12. August 25th is Kiss and Make Up day: Read a book with characters that fight, but get back together. Or a book by an author you didn't like for a while, but now you like them again.
13. August 27th is Just Because Day: Read any book you want for any reason you want, you know, just because.
Enjoy and happy reading!
