This is a book I read about 15 years ago. It is about a boy's dad who loves to ice cakes. He decorates the most beautiful cakes with trains, ballerinas, flowers etc. One day another bakery opens and he can't compete. He tries fishing, stamp collecting etc but hates them. Finally he tries clay. Soon he is sculpting everything with clay. In the end, he opens a clay shop that is just as loved as his cake shop.
