Hello I am looking for a book.
A woman (I think named Angie, could be wrong) works as a fire fighter or possibly a park ranger out in the mountains. She gets seriously burned in a wildfire and her boss sends her to a water planet, surgically replaces her hands (which were burned beyond repair) and gives her gils like the locals have. She is originally sent there to spy on the locals but of course winds up switching sides and becoming part of the resistance.
Have been searching for this book for years!
It is a sci-fi/ fantasy.

When do you think you read this Crimson? Was it by someone "well known" at the time? Where did you get it? Library, bookstore, Amazon, the grocers?

I read this about 8 years ago. I don't think the author was well known at the time but I could be wrong. I got it off of my mom's bookshelf. I have asked her about it and looked through her old books but she only vaguely remembers it and no longer has it. =(
