Paul Douglas Lovell (powerpuffgeezer) | 33 comments I was advised to discuss books similar to my own to find like minded readers. To compare my work to others makes me uncomfortable as it hasn't been validated by sales or reviews. It's currently being edited. My three books are:

Angela's Ashes: Frank McCourt
Memoirs Of A Geisha: Arthur Golden
On the Road: Jack Kerouac

I think it is more intriguing not to give any explanation. Any curious people are welcome to quiz me.

I feel it's a safe guess that you're not putting women in the kitchen and the brothel, Paul ;-) I know this book is fifty/sixty year's old, but I find it almost impossible to read that kind of sexism.

Paul Douglas Lovell (powerpuffgeezer) | 33 comments I hadn't read it but two people said my first draft reminded them of it. So I read it and could sort of see similar parts, not the sexism which as a selfish man must confess I didn't notice. But as you know sexism, racism and I'm sure quite a few more ism's and obia's were more extreme it those days so I suppose it will come out. I just picked up on the road movie part as my memoirs visits American many times.
And I never worked in a Brothel either.

A remarkable number of women don't notice either, it seems. ...
