Robin (Saturndoo) (robinsaturndoo) Down the Rabbit Hole by Charlotte Abel

Down the Rabbit Hole (Sanctuary, #0.5) by Charlotte Abel

Acquired from Amazon: August 20,2013

Rating-2 stars

Quick easy read of about 52 pages. It wasn't great but JUST interesting enough to keep me reading. It was just a story. No back story or any other type of info to really clue me in on what's to come in the first book of the series. It wasn't even really enough to make me interested in checking out the series, much less want to read it. Is it worth the read.....no not really.

Robin (Saturndoo) (robinsaturndoo) The Girl with the Cat Tattoo by Theresa Weir

The Girl with the Cat Tattoo (Cool Cats, #1) by Theresa Weir

Acquired from Amaazon: July 14,2012

Rating-1.5 stars

I thought that this book would be an interesting read especially being told from the cat's perspective. Boy was I disappointed. Despite the high ratings I was not impressed with this book. To me, it was silly almost to the point of being stupid. Just about every cliche in regards to the feline world was used in this book. Can we get a little bit more of the authors own thoughts, writing, and words instead of common everyday cliches? It was seriously lacking in the romance dept. I really didn't connect with any of the characters nor did I care about them.

Overall, it was a quick read. It was very predictable with a lot of unbelievable things happening. This book needs a lot of fleshing out. I am glad that it was a kindle freebie as I definitely would not have paid for this. Not recommended.

You are more than welcome LK. I think at times authors don't really think the facts, big or small, really matter. BUT THEY DO!!! Especially if it involves a topic someone is really interested in or knowledgeable about.

The Mating (Law of the Lycans, #1) by Nicky Charles
The Mating, by Nicky Charles

★★★★✩ I enjoyed this book; it held my attention. I really liked that it started off with the hero and heroine werewolves already being mated, a “fait accompli.” That was a nice change. (BTW, it is free right now on Kindle.)

This was a quick read as the writing flowed. Not too many editing errors; only one really jarred me out of the story. While there is nothing really new in the story-line, the characters where likable and the pacing was good. Some things were reiterated more than I like. **shrug** Still, I gobbled it down in a day.

The heroine, Elise, is young, but thankfully NOT a pouting, immature one who is put in TSTL plot contrivances. Mostly this book has scenes of Elise mixing in with her new pack life, both domestic and political.

There is a plot about an oil company interested in the pack’s land and a mystery surrounding sabotages and pack member endangerment. Maybe an old friend who was a rival for the hero’s Alpha position? Or could all the trouble be from another source altogether? There is also the “other woman” triangle, if you want to call it a triangle, with the hero just being totally oblivious to her machinations. Nevertheless, this doesn’t prevent there being some sweet scenes between the H/h as they get to know one another and the sex scenes are well done, if almost a little too rough three-fourths of the way through.

This was the first time I read anything by this author; I recommend the book, as I’ll probably read the next in the series.

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments I read your review of the book, ShoSho. And I agree; Kane seemed a bit dense at times. I'm glad that author put in about his feeling guilty over the other woman's father's death... gave him a reason for being too soft on her. Otherwise, I would have called him hopeless. LOL!

Gisela (chicadorlando) | 4022 comments Too true! I don’t always agree with a character’s actions but if the author can give me a reason for their behavior other than “just because the plot needs it” then I can be ok with it.
