I don't know about you, but I tend to read multiple books at once. Sometimes it can be confusing.
Do you read multiple books at once? How many? Does it effect how you absorb info from each book?

message 2: by Zechariah (new)

Zechariah (zechbarrett) | 2992 comments I try to read books one at a time... but when a new book comes out by one of my favorite authors, I sometimes stop reading the other one and work on the new one.

It really depends though. If they're very different genres, I can probably "absorb" from multiple titles equally.

message 7: by Emily (new)

message 8: by Leyla (new)

Leyla (leylabello) I used to read just one at a time, but then I started working at a Library and 1 is not enough so I started to read two and then three. Three is good for me.

message 11: by Robyn (new)

Robyn | 10 comments I read about 2 or 3 books at a time, but it depends. I don't find it confusing at all :)

message 12: by Joshua (new)

Joshua Winning (joshuawinning) Gosh I can only handle one book at a time! I like to give it my full attention. Also I have a terrible memory so I'd end up getting the books confused! Really admire people who can keep up with more than one book.

message 13: by Jadyn (new)

Jadyn (fldsmdfr) I read two or three books at a time and I don't get confused.

message 17: by A (new)

A H 2-3 books but sometimes, if I have pressure due to studies - I prefer to read 1 at a time.

Kimberly | 7 comments 3 or 4 books

Theodosia of the Fathomless Hall (taelianaofthewind) | 1580 comments About three or four nonfiction books and one or two fictions normally. I consider myself a fast reader and thus really read whichever book I feel like or want to learn about.

message 23: by Sophie (new)

Sophie 1, sometimes 2 when one of them is sluggish.

message 24: by Brandi (new)

Brandi (brandithebibliophile) | 5 comments 2

message 25: by Diandra (new)

Diandra | 17 comments I usually read 2-3 books at a time. A couple weeks ago I mad an effort to read only one book at a time and I succeeded....for a couple days. I'm currently reading 3 books lol

message 26: by Irene (new)

Irene (wingdesilverii) It really depends, I think I had eight books going at one point. The key for me is they just all have to be different. Right now I am reading two books for school (two different classes) and two books for my personal enjoyment, one is a bibliography and the other is a fantasy novel. That makes a total of four very different books, if they were all the same/similar I couldn't do it.

message 28: by Elysia (new)

Elysia (elysia_rae) It depends, I use to read just one at a time but now that I get so many library books I end up reading two or three at a time.

message 29: by [deleted user] (new)

What with school I can usually only focus on one to two books at a time for free reading, but during the summer I can read about five books at once and keep them all straight.

message 30: by Egg (new)

Egg Head | 9 comments Well I use to only read 1 at a time but recently I started reading 3 at a time. I think I would read more if I found a certain book or something like that though.

message 31: by Marleny (new)

Marleny (marlenyr) | 14 comments I read one or two books at a time. Sometimes, if I'm enjoying one book more than the other I'll end up predominantly reading that book and finish it and then go back to the second book and finish it. More than that, I'd end up abandoning...

message 32: by Arbaaz (new)

Arbaaz Khan (arbaazkhan1999) | 143 comments I tried to read two or three books at a time but now I think it just messes my mind up so I just read 1 book at a time but sometimes maybe I read 2 books if the other one is short.

message 33: by Elaney (new)

Elaney | 339 comments I can only ever read one at a time, but if anyone has tips on how to read more than one, I would be extremely grateful.

message 34: by Arbaaz (new)

Arbaaz Khan (arbaazkhan1999) | 143 comments just make a time table like if you have time in the morning then read and if you got a time when sleeping then you'll read the other one. but only if you can manage the stories.

message 35: by Elaney (new)

Elaney | 339 comments Okay, I'll try that. Thanks!

message 36: by [deleted user] (new)

I prefer to read one at a time, but sometimes (especially if I am wanting to read and the book I am currently reading is not around) I will read up two or three at a time. No more than three, even that gets somewhat confusing.

message 43: by Irene (new)

Irene (wingdesilverii) Elaney wrote: "I can only ever read one at a time, but if anyone has tips on how to read more than one, I would be extremely grateful."

I keep multiple books going easily if they are all different, like a autobiography, a sci-fi book, a mystery, and a book on deduction.
