I think it would take forever to get through 12 books too! Like that feeling when you are enjoying a book, but feel like you have been in it forever....maybe that's just me. I'm always looking at what I am going to read next

I know I read very different books at once! Like I will have a couple biographies going, a high fantasy, some sci-fi book, a realistic fiction, and a mystery.

Way to go, Autumn~ It keeps your mind sharp!

I honestly think speed reading is a waste of my time as it cheats me out of those little details that make reading a great distraction from life by pulling you away from reality and submersing you into another world.....I occasionally speed read a book if I am sick of it but it's not bad enough to make me just set it down and never ever finish it.

I do, but not for all books I read. It depends with the writing style. Even if the book has a bad plot, but the writing is good then I won't speed read.
I speed read most books that I've been anticipating. It's because I'm so anxious and excited. But I always re-read them anyway.
I just read Captive by Aimee Carter, and it took me 3hrs to finish the book.

My record is 5. I don't really like doing it either. Right now I have 3 books I'm reading.

I used to read two books at a time, but stopped because I hardly have the time (or energy) for one book anymore!
